My first visit to Prostin Garden City was pleasant and the food was delicious, beer flowed and we had a great time, however our second visit was absolutely horrendous. Our servers attitude was deplorable and she ignored us for well over an hour after she brought us our food. We were content to stay and continue eating and drinking but we didn't have the chance to order past our drinks an appetizer and our entrees. She continued serving the other 3 tables around us, not even checking in to see how our food came out. We decided to leave as we felt extremely unwelcome and we tried for 30 minutes to get our servers attention for the check, unfortunately she never gave me the time of day so I did my own math for what our total would be based on the menu prices and left cash with enough to cover tax and a small tip of whatever would be leftover. Apparently we finally got her attention by walking for the door at which point she ran across the dining area yelling "Hey! Hey! Get back here you have to pay!" and chased us to the door where she felt it necessary to argue with me and make me walk to the back with her. She treated me like a criminal and tried to explain her behavior on it being "busy" there were 4 tables of couples being served by her and a coworker. I left embarrassed and bewildered. I would not recommend that anyone go to spend an evening out at Prost. The service is not worth it to enjoy their excellent food. I feel I should add that this happened well before COVID-19 but I still think of that night and how...

Even though I don't drink alcohol I fell into a facebook group that my boyfriend belonged to when we first started dating called 8 O'Clock Shot. The people in the group are cool about me drinking coffee, OJ & Seltzer and N/A beers and I'm cool with the fact that they drink, overall they're a pretty good group of people.
Last night Tom Perrone a member of 8OCS hosted his first ever vinyl night in Nassau County at Prost. Usually he hosts Vinyl nights in Patchogue at TwoMorrow's Pub. Sometimes he'll host other vinyl nights or afternoons at different locations. So my boyfriend and I were able to go.
One of the good things I appreciate about Prost is that it's a bar/restaurant. So if there's something going on and I need to bring my son I'm safely able to do so. I wouldn't bring my 9 year old to just a bar but if it's a bar/restaurant there's nothing wrong with bringing him if I had to.
We didn't get a chance to have any food, maybe one day on one of our future visits we will.
I had an OJ & Seltzer and a Clausthaler N/A beer. My go to N/A beer for drinking at home has been Athletic Brewery N/A beer but I had a Clausthaler once before at the American Hotel Bar in Sayville and Clausthaler is a good flavorful N/A beer. My boyfriend chose to have a liter of Miller Lite I think.
Hanging at Prost was a good time, one of the bars in Garden City that I would suggest...
Read moreTo begin, Each table in the restaurant has a QR code and some people in our party ordered using it. Our server came over and seemed annoyed that we used that method of ordering and it created confusion for us. We then waited for the server to take our order.
When we got our first round of drinks but it took forever to get a second round. Our server wasn’t attentive. The restaurant was practically empty so it simply got annoying. Every time we needed something we would have to ask another server or bus person to get our server.
Towards the end of our dining experience, it became very apparent that our server didn’t care how our table was doing. So we had to ask the bus person for our check. Just like that our server magically appeared and informed us that she didn’t charge us a gratuity for our table. We decided to tip 15% for the lack of service but still being fair. To our surprise, our server came back and demanded a bigger tip. She essentially said to tip the 20% that she didn’t include in the bill. A real shakedown.
Very shocking behavior from someone who checked on us two times in the 2 hours we were there, had a lack of enthusiasm, and genuinely made us feel like we were bothering her.
Hey, but at least the food and atmosphere were...
