I have heard a lot of salpino on TikTok and Instagram . Their sandwiches are supposed to be amazing. My daughter told me about Sal Pinots as she went to the one in North Babylon and she said their sandwiches were delicious so I decided to go to Sal Pinos here in Bellmore. I really thought it was the same .I have never left a neg review. But I think I had to today. I asked for a sandwich called Italian BLT. A guy told me what is that. He then stated you have it on your Instagram he said oh we’re not them he said he’ll tell me what’s in the sandwich so I did. As he was helping me making my sandwich, his coworker asked him about catering menu, so instead of finishing, he helped her using the gloves that he was making my sandwich with got a pen and paper and started reading the ladies menu that she wanted. And instead of changing his gloves, he continued to make my sandwich. Then the mop fell. He picked it up with the same gloves do you think he even changed? Not very sanitary. I just looked at them to see how long it would take and he still didn’t change them. To be honest with you I will never go back. Then I went to go get some cookies. The music was so loud, and the Lady could not here me. I asked for half a pound pignoli cookies. She gave me a pound cost and $30. I looked at the box and I said I only needed a half a pound she had stated oh I heard 1 pound, but then she took the box and corrected it . My only recommendation is when they’re taking care of a customer. They should continue to finish what they were doing before helping another customer. And also changed their gloves when he touched something...
Read moreI made a last minute purchase for our podiatrist on December 23rd. Not knowing what I wanted to get and not being familiar with their pastries, I asked a lot of questions to the young lady who was helping me.
I noticed that the other customer had a much more pleasant experience than what I was having. He was also asking questions and his “assistant” answered him with recommendations on what to get. The one helping me didn’t fail to show frustration with me and didn’t give any suggestions.
The other lady brought out a cake that was not on display with the other customer, a cake that was not offered to me. I asked the other lady what it was and it was perfect for what I was looking for. I asked “my assistant” if they had more and she flat out said no without looking at the display. The other lady, Angela, told her that there was plenty in the back. Angela then handed the cake to the customer in a holiday appropriate box. It was festive and a nice presentation to give without the extra expense of having the box wrapped with a bow. I asked “my assistant” if she could do the same. Not only did she not answer, she also handed me a regular box.
There was a clear difference in customer service experience between mine and the customer Angela was assisting. I asked Angela if she could change the box for me and she accepted my box with grace and a smile when she said “of course!” I wish that she assisted me in the first place. Angela is great! She really knows how to treat a customer with warm hospitality that makes new customers become...
Read more12/4/23 - The response from the owner who claims to have been in the deli when the below happened is absolutely insane - apparently YOU have a hard time understanding the heavy Italian accent. He said RUDELY "I CALLED THAT NUMBER 4 TIMES - NOW YOU CAN WAIT!" THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO MINCING OF WORDS OR CONFUSION he absolutely didn't say sorry or "that he will help me next"...Also, I did not leave the area or wander down the aisles I stood and waited watching the board. Let me reiterate what I said below - it was busy NOT LOUD in the department. The person I was with also saw/heard exactly what I heard...
Went today to pick up some steak from the meat department. The place was very busy so I grabbed a ticket and waited my turn. I didn't move from the deli area when I saw the ticket number board was past my ticket number. I held up my ticket and was told by a very rude man behind the deli that he called my number FOUR times. (He was short, had dark hair and I'm guessing in his 40's or 50's). I never heard any numbers being called - perhaps you should speak louder when the store is packed. I didn't say a word - he then told me in an extremely rude tone of voice - "well now YOU can wait". I wasn't expecting him or anyone else to drop what they were doing and serve me. The proper response could have been - I'll get you next after I'm finished with the customer he was helping. I turned around and walked out. I'll NEVER go back to Salpino's in Bellmore again! In what world does the customer get...
