Vito's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Do not order on this restaurant's website! I placed an order that I had to cancel. The order was cancelled so I did not receive it but I never received credit to my credit card. I contacted the manager who told me that I could place an order in the future and I would not be charged by the amount I was supposed to be credited with. I went to place that order but was told they had already sent me the order and that I had signed for it. I had not contacted them before this to send the order and I did not sign for it. So I am basically out $25 .

Also, the reason I had to cancel the order was that I had placed it on the ordering site of the restaurant instead of grubhub or whatever. I was just trying to check out the restaurant to see what the total charge would be and I was not planning to place the order at the present time. I clicked on a link that I thought would take me to a screen that would let me review the order and all the charges, but instead it said my order was completed! So now I am definitely afraid to place an order on their website ordering platform. I am not even sure how they had my credit card number, but I was definitely charged and then never credited. The manager told me to contact the people who run the ordering site, which I did. They told me to contact the restaurant, which I did, all...

Cheers to GrubHub, jeers to Vito's Pizzeria. Every once in a while I will order diner from Vito's through GrubHub (before all the lectures about prices being higher on GrubHub, I only use GH when I have coupons to offset the higher prices and it is actually less). Tonight was one of those nights and things went fine until I got a text, after my food was delivered (I also have free delivery on GH) that an additional amount was being added to my order. I called Vito's to inquire about this extra charge. The woman who answered the phone was not pleasant and rather curt. When I asked about the extra charge she told me they recently raised their prices. When I told her GH had the old prices she replied that's not her problem. I asked for her to meet me halfway, but she refused. She then said, do you want me to lose money? Yeah, like you're going to lose money! I sensed this woman would not make good. So they would rather lose a long time customer, then to make them happy. So be it.

I then went on the GH app and "chatted" with their customer service. I explained the situation and was given back 3 fold what I was additionally charged by Vito's. I stand on principle and I won't be ordering from Vito's again. There are many other restaurants in the area to...

Who gets take out pizza and worries about atmosphere? It really appears to be a hole in the wall and so we've bypassed it for years. Big mistake. We were looking for a new place to get a dependable classic pizza in Hicksville. Places closer are mediocre at best, so we expanded our search and tried Vito's as friends had said they love this place a number of years ago. We've only had a large pie so far, couldn't be happier with it or service. Right amount of cheese and sauce flavored with basil. Homestyle but not too sweet or salty. Pie was cooked properly and dough was not tough instead was crispy and firm. A small sample size, but we'll be back even though it's further away than a half dozen...
