The Barracks Inn Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Town of Hounsfield

Some friends of mine went here for a nice family brunch and everything started fine. Their food came out and several items were cold but they didn’t see the waitress for 10+ minutes after. They were upset about their cold meals but only told the server about one in particular meal...Maddy’s undercooked chicken wrap. The tortilla was undercooked and very doughy. The waitress said she would go talk to the kitchen but seemed very hesitant. The owner came out more than 5 minutes later and immediately was agreessive towards them before even hearing what was wrong. Maddy simply told her that the sandwich was undercooked and simply wanted it taken off the bill. (it was that terrible) The owner responded “its not my fault that you don’t like it! You ordered it and it’s not my problem! I made it and that’s how it’s supposed to be!” She then proceeded to toss the plate back on the table in front of Maddy nearly knocking her water and the food onto her lap causing her own eye glasses to fall of her face and onto the table. We are all in complete shock that the owner of a local establishment would act like this towards customers! Never again would we step foot in this place and would highly recommend not wasting your time here either! The owner also yelled never to come back as she stormed back inside screaming! A different guy came back out nearly 5 minutes later to try to quell the situation! When we first said something to the waitress (who was very nice and attentive) she was very hesitant to resolve the simple issue leading us to believe that the owner clearly mistreats her employees and they are afraid to bring any complaints or concerns to...

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Barracks Inn on June 10th, 2023 and everything was extraordinary! When I say "everything" and "extraordinary", I sincerely mean it. From the beginning of the months of planning, to the big day, it was a pleasure and a blessing to work with Kim! The communication was superb and the choices of packages were abundant. She was able to offer food and service options that, not only were fantastic for our guests, but fit our targeted budget. The décor was beautiful inside and outside! The food was absolutely fantastic! The service (including her family team) was outstanding! I even changed the cake cutting from being held inside to having it out on the dock at the last second, and it all just happened so quickly and seamlessly! The cake, knife, photographer, and all appeared before me on the dock with the backdrop of beautiful Lake Ontario :) I highly recommend anybody who is planning any sort of special event to reach out to Kim at The Barracks Inn. We had our daughter’s wedding at the Barracks Inn this past July and from start to finish it was absolutely perfect! I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Kim and her staff were absolutely amazing! The food was so good - all of our guests were impressed with the quality and quantity, the venue is beautiful, and having Kim and her staff is like having your own wedding coordinator- it was no stress and so much fun!
