Weird experience here. Overall setting is beautiful right on the water. But the first thing on your way in tonight was the bathrooms really smelled out into the front hall. We were greeted pleasantly and the table we had was at the edge of the dock right overlooking the water. Beautiful. Our server was very kind but seemed a bit nervous and very casual. The food was average and could have been a little better for the prices. Spinach artichoke dip was hot and I liked the chunks of artichoke, but there wasnât much spinach and not much flavor and seasoning. The baguette it was served with was good and the homemade chips tasted great. My wife said her fish tacos were pretty good and the salsa tasty. My Tex Mex burger was cooked decently but was incredibly bland and came with cheese and sliced avocados. Seemed to be missing something. Fries were 1.75 extra or something and they were tiny shoestring fries that tasted like any bag of frozen fries from a grocery store. All of that could have been fine and I am sure they have some other dishes that are a little better, but here is the weird part. The whole night we kept hearing the waiter comment on how slammed it all was and how he was afraid of the manager or something. And then- I took a bit of my burger after getting 3/4 of the way through it and I bit down on a broken piece of white plastic. I told the waiter and asked him to let the manager know. I kinda figured they would come out to chat. Nope. Nothing. He came out and said he wasnât able to get anything taken off the bill which admittedly would have been a nice gesture, but then he offered to âtake care of a dessert myself if you come in again.â I told him that he shouldnât have to do that and offered to speak to the manager. I realize I probably should have just requested to at this point. Because then he said âoh God please donât.- she is expediting and wouldnât be available anyways.â Point is: I donât know what was going on back there, but it wasnât good. I can forgive mediocre food because you canât win âem all and I am sure some other dishes are higher quality. Not only did I bite down on a hard piece of plastic, but 75 dollars for a very âokâ dinner for two where whatever back of the house drama was unfolding was oozing out onto the guests made this a very unfortunate date. My company was lovely, the drinks were tasty, but everything else was just ok and âweird.â How do you not want to speak to a customer after there was hard broken plastic in their food? How do you not want to reassure them that they are looking into it and will do their best to prevent that from happening to someone else? At the very least I would want to know that it was being address even if they werenât going to comp any part of the bill, which was really my goal. Seems to be in need of some good leadership and management skill!whether...
Read moreWent there for dinner with friends, they arrived before me and my party. Walked in nice place. Good atmosphere. I'm visiting from out of town and I have my small dog with me. He is not a service dog but he isn't a threat to anyone. We walked in and were seated on the back deck, then we were told that we had to move to a different section because of the dog. No problem, I get it. Well after we had ordered and just received our food the owner/manager came to the table and told us, he could not be there either. That dogs aren't allowed (only service animals). And she just stood there like we were to read her mind. Mind you, where I'm from dogs ARE allowed on the outside dinning areas and if they are not there is a sign stating that. There are NO signs, nor anyone at the front podium to tell me they were not allowed. Anyway, I did not appreciate the fact that she waited until after our food was ordered and then made it very uncomfortable standing and staring us down. (Also my dog was behaving and not doing anything to raise concern.) My daughter asked for a togo box, packed her food and left with our dog. She didn't even get to eat. So, with that being said. I had the fish tacos, I've had better. It would have been better grilled instead of coated with a thick batter and deep fried. My biggest issue with this place is the attitude the manager had and make us feel like we were beneath her and how dare we even enjoy dinner outside on the patio with our dog. Well, dinner wasn't great. Oh, and her excuse about the whole situation was that he may get into a fight and cause harm to someone. He was under my chair sitting nicely and not paying attention to anyone else. So, they may want to post signage stating dogs (pets) are not welcome. Won't be back to eat here. no one was complaining...
Read moreWas there on Wednesday. To start off on a positive note the food we ordered was good. That is really the only positive thing i can say. We arrived and were seated. After 10 to 15 minutes of watching waiters and waitresses walking by us and not even acknowledging us we finally got some water. The waitress showed up soon after though so i thought ok no problem now. Wrong. The drink order was take and shortly after the food order was taken. The first round of drinks and the food did arrive in a fairly decent time. But when the food arrived we had no utensils or napkins. I mentioned this to the waitress. She brought us over the silverware but placed two settings by me. I picked up one to give it to my wife and the waitress actually yanked it out of my hand saying that that was not mine. She handed it to my wife and walked away. Ok so kind of made me mad but whatever. She returned a while later and asked if we needed anything else. I asked for another beer. After 10 to 15 minutes of watching her walk by us with other drink orders and who knows what else she finally brings the beer over ( we were done eating at this time). I was fairly agitated at this time and said something about the timing. She laughed. I said really i am not joking it was 15 minutes to get this beer. She kind of laughed again and walked off. She came back again with our bill and acted as if nothing had been said and everything was ok. I did not make a fuss or ask for the manager although i probably should have. I am local. I will not be back. And i will tell anyone that asks about the timeliness of service and the rudeness of...
