This place could be a hit. I see where they got their inspiration from which is New Bohemia. They have the self serve bar and food. They have the large community picnic tables and of course you can't forget the large pretzel. For food I had the large pretzel and it was large and a could app for multiple people or even a full meal for 2. The pretzel was soft and a flaky, but where was the salt!!! Without the salt it was blah. Also with the pretzel it came with beer cheese and ale mustard spread. Both of these dips were very disappointing. They were ice cold and far from what you want to dip a hot pretzel into. When you get beer cheese you waznt it hot not like it just came out of the fridge. Didn't have the pizza but it looked good. The beer was average for the ones I had. Like I said before it is close , be but needs some slight changes to make it a staple. Also they can improve on the out door...
Read moreVery good selection of beer. The Sugar Shack Stout is super good, smooth and almost like drinking a dessert. The Scottish ale was very good. The French toast ale was ok. Our groups Pilsner drinker thought this was a good Pilsner.
1 STAR for the PIZZA. Really Bad. Four of us shared the Spicy Italian Sausage pizza and Philly Cheesesteak Pizza. The sausage pizza had little to no sausage and the piece I found was a GRIZZLY bite of SAUSAGE, awful! The pizza was so over baked and so DRY and an over whelming amount of green pepper. The bit of flavor the pizza had was green pepper, as it was the most ingredient on the pizza. There was little to NO SAUCE. It was one of the worst pizzas we have ever eaten. The Philly Cheesesteak pizza was at best edible. Little to no flavor, dry awful crust.
All agreed we would definitely come back for the great BEER but would not...
Read moreBeer was all right but nothing special. I understand they are not a full service restaurant but the level of DIY here is pretty crazy. There is a lot about the service design that needs improvement. If you are going g to ask customers to bus their own tables then you should have a clearly set up station for that purpose. Bringing your trash to the food line where fresh food is picked up is unsanitary. Having to be hyper vigilant to hear your food order called in a noisy environment is also just poor design. Why not a digital system of some sort like a buzzer or phone notification? No salt or pepper or red pepper or cheese available for pizza. Stick a table right behind the one place to order and then make people oddly snake through the space. All around just poorly conceived...
