You ever love a brand new place so much that you're so lucky to have near you that you get deeply offended by negative reviews? That's how I feel. Irondequoit is so lucky to have this place and I deeply want it to succeed.

Everything was amazing, but especially the selection of desserts. I'm lucky to have raised two kids who are not picky at all, so I was able to order a variety of dishes but more importantly, multiple desserts to share. Coconut rice with mango, coconut creme brulee with mango, Vietnamese tiramisu, and the pandan chiffon cake with young coconut filling. No notes, all great.

The only things I wish were different: the papaya salad even at a 1 was too spicy for my kids to enjoy (but it was still delicious to me) and that the laab came with crunchy veggies on the side. I usually order the things I don't make at home (I've been making Thai curry and noodle dishes since college since I couldn't afford to eat out) and the fried squid, the laab, the pork belly were all excellent.

My younger kid wanted the side order of "fried egg" and he ate it with the pork belly, I highly recommend the breakfast vibes, perfectly runny yolk.

I wish I had grabbed more photos of the food, but the Thai tea was extremely well balanced. Not too sweet, no sediment, no bitter...

I ordered from this place yesterday because my family and I were so hungry. We just got into city from a different town. First of all, the person I ordered from on the phone had no idea what's on the menu. When asked if they had the "pho beef special" (because it was specified on their menu they had it), the person on the phone had no idea. I could hear the person going back and fourth with another employee as I asked for several request. Anyways the order was placed. It was picked up, and everything was still pretty hot. But, the pho, was definitely not authentic, it lacked depth and flavor. Now, I'm a Vietnamese person myself and I can definitely tell you not to order the pho. It was so bland, even after dressing it up with hoison sauce and the garnishes. As for the Kapoon, it was also very bland, it was probably the worst Kapoon I ever had. I understand this is a Thai restaurant and of course they aren't going to make the best pho or Kapoon, but at least make some effort to make it taste flavorful. Also, the Thai fried rice lacked flavor and there wasn't even any basil leaves in it to give it it's signature taste. I'm never going to order from here ever again and make sure none of my friends ever try it, It...

First time at Wild Elephant Thai! Consider us instant fans! From the moment we were greeted by Sarin, our incredibly personable and kind server, we knew we were in for a treat. His excellent service truly enhanced our dining experience. Now, let's get down to the delicious details. The Crab Rangoon? Seriously addictive – perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor. For our main courses, we decided on the Pork Belly and the Lao Sausage, and both were outstanding. The pork belly was cooked to a melt-in-your-mouth perfection, while the Lao sausage was incredibly flavorful, leaving us wanting more. And the portions? Prepare to be impressed – they are incredibly generous! We also have to give a shout-out to the amazing sticky rice, the ideal complement to such tasty dishes. Watch out for that mango salad temperature! You’re going to want to keep it low. What truly impressed us was not only the quality but also the value. The prices at Wild Elephant are very, very reasonable for the amount and deliciousness you receive. We left feeling completely satisfied and already eager to return. If you're looking for fantastic Thai food with great service and generous portions, look no further than...

I don’t usually write reviews however I think this place deserves one. I’ve been looking for years to find an authentic Thai/laos restaurant that was up to par with my comfort food restaurant where I used to eat 2x a week that closed during covid. If you’ve ever had your favorite restaurant close, you know what it’s like to be endlessly searching for another that compares. None have come close to this one. I ordered the Thai sesame beef, Kao poon, mango sticky rice and Thai tea. My first bite of the sesame beef and sticky rice instantly sent me into a dopamine spiral. On my first bite I knew this is what I’ve been looking for for years. The portion size was huge and my only complaint was that I wish I had gotten a second side of sticky rice. The mango rice was also delicious. I’m very excited to try the kao poon as it’s not a commonly offered menu item from what I’ve seen and it’s always been one of my top favorite dishes. I highly recommend, and I’m excited to try more on the menu!

If I could give it 6 stars I would. The food here is unparalleled and marvelously seasoned. The atmosphere is very clean. I find the decorations and paintings quite interesting and delightful to observe. All that said, the service is in the top two of all of the restaurants I have ever been in and I have been in very many. The hostess was so cheerful and kindly explained the entrees to each of us and helped up to pick. The host or server was just as amazingly helpful and polite. He would explain to us different things about the food and preparation. Each one of us (4) were absolutely blown away with our appetizers, entrees, drinks and oh boy, the deserts. Try the creme roulette. This was a pleasure to experience and i will repeat venturing to the Wild Elephant. Pinky promise, Pang.

Updated review: I recently dined here and had a mixed experience. The staff was friendly and the place was decently busy, which is always a good sign. The food tasted pretty good, reasonable portions and prices. The food tasted similar to Thai Bistro but better in my opinion. However, the atmosphere was a bit off-putting. The predominantly black decor felt unusual for a restaurant, and there was a strong incense odor that I found overpowering. I'm not sure if it was intended to mask any unpleasant smells, but it was definitely noticeable. Overall, the restaurant seems to have potential, but they need to address the atmosphere and perhaps refine their service a bit. I'm willing to give them another try in the future, but I'll wait a while to see if they make any improvements.
