My family and I have been going to ditch for over a year and we usually love it however our experience last night was awful. They always seem to be short staffed but with a full house like last night, only having one waitress is unfair to both the customers and her. It was not her fault but when it’s that busy, they shouldn’t seat people until she can catch up or maybe the manager could have stepped in to help her with tables. I made a reservation for my mom’s birthday because all she wanted was a lobster roll. I chose ditch because the food is usually amazing, including their lobster rolls. However, as soon as we walked in at 6:30, it was so loud we almost walked right out. They had live music playing that was just way too loud for the space and causing people who were just trying to have a nice dinner have to scream in order to talk to anyone. The people at the tables around us were shaking their heads whenever the music started back up. It took a long time for our waitress to come back to us which was understandable considering she was the only one serving. However, we had ordered and gotten our appetizers and then waited about 20 minutes after we finished our apps until our waitress came back to take our dinner orders. She went to the table next to us first, who had arrived about 20 mins after us, and took their dinner orders. She came to us right after. We placed our dinner orders and then 25 mins later, she informs us there were no more lobster rolls. I felt so bad because that’s literally all my mom asked to have for her bday. Being everyone else had already ordered, my mom decided on tacos. Then about 15 mins later, the table next to us got their food and they got the last two lobster rolls. At this point we were extremely irritated as we were there first and waited patiently for the waitress to take our dinner orders but she took the table next to us first even though they had gotten there after us and as a result, they got the last two lobster rolls. Also, not her fault, but the kitchen should have informed the other staff that they were running low on lobster (especially since this is a seafood restaurant by the water and this is what many people come here for) and that is something that should have been communicated to us when we first arrived, not 25 mins after we ordered. After waiting another 15 mins without our food coming, and the music so loud we all had headaches, we decided to just leave. The waitress apologized even though it really wasn’t her fault but we definitely will not be returning to ditch for any special events. Unless they hire more staff, they cannot accommodate the amount of people they had in the restaurant last night and they definitely should not have live music that loud in such a...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place! I found it on a whim with my girlfriend and the experience just kind of fell flat for us. The waitress was really nice but didn’t seem to know much about the menu. When the corn dip came out we noticed it was missing cotija cheese (it was listed on the menu) and when we asked for it, she didn’t really know what we were asking for and we had to explain it to her. They were out of mint for one of the drinks we ordered and so they just made it without it. And then we ordered the mac and cheese and the waitress accidentally gave us lobster mac and cheese instead. She walked away too quickly for us to tell her and then didn’t come back for a while so we began picking at it anyway and the lobster was actually horrendous. It was like… well done and crispy and really fishy in flavor. We wasted the entirety of it minus a few noodles and she didn’t ask about it at the end or seem to care. The cauliflower tacos were really dry and the dip they came with tasted identical to maple syrup- like, we are pretty certain it was maple syrup lol. Anyway, first look at the menu I was definitely excited but almost everything fell flat- and we ordered and tried a lot of food. The only item that we really enjoyed was the croquette/balls? I can’t remember what they were called but they were definitely tasty! The place has potential I suppose- it really is super cute in there and the dishes were adorable with little blue designs on them, but overall just lacking a lot of fine tuning in the service department & overall flavor/execution...
Read moreWe went on 7/3 at 6pm and had tickets for the margarita making class at 7. At the door I was told that class was about to be cancelled due to pending storms (in a rude manner) Ok, but a very last minute call, at that point I already had a baby sitter and we already had ubered there. I made a comment saying there was no warning made and how it was planned to start in an hour. We sat anyway and it was empty at this point, we put in drink orders and an app and then our meal order and we got our food before the drinks even came. Now as we are sitting at 6:20 I do get a text saying the class was cancelled, again very last minute. The margarita was very good but the service was so slow that I couldn’t have even ordered another and never had food come out before the drinks. We also had chips and guac as an appetizer and basically all the chips were stale tasting. I love a good taco spot so this was very disappointing. Now it’s 7/8 and I still haven’t received a refund from the class which I spent $200 on. I have called twice with no return phone call and it is very unprofessional to have to keep calling to receive a refund when i understand it was a holiday weekend but it has been days now. On our way out a bunch of people were very annoyed because they didn’t receive any cancellation notice about the class. I would not return to this restaurant for...
