I recently visited The Pizzeria with my dad and his girlfriend, per her friends' recommendations. Ashley served us, and I noticed how friendly she was before she even got to our table because she smiled at me when we first made eye contact. She was attentive and also very helpful explaining what went into certain entrees, like the Uncle Benny for example. (I took a personal pie of that home.). We ordered Whipped Ricotta Toast as an appetizer. I loved it but my dad's girlfriend said the topping was unexpectedly cold, so it might not be the choice for people who don't like their temperatures to mix. Other than that, she said the only downsides were that the music was too loud and the knives were dull. She and I both ordered Rosey Cheeks to drink. I was specifically looking for something non-alcoholic and was presently surprised because I wouldn't normally consider myself a fan of club soda. My dad had iced tea, which he liked. For my meal, I got the Beggar's Purse which has a tiny kick to it. (It made my nose run, but there were no tears.). My dad had chicken parm which left him in between good and belly ache full. His girlfriend ordered the chicken caesar wrap, which was left unfinished and unwrapped. She liked that it was flavorful and not basic or boring. We traded samples of our food and ordered some to go: Truffle fries, a Grandma slice and an Upside Down Slice. While we still enjoyed most that, their pizza is definitely best...
Read moreWent for dinner with our kids. We selected 5 different slices to test and share. The Tri-fecta was a simple slice with good flavors; I was interested how three different sauces would go together, but it worked really well! The Thai chili chicken was an interesting spin on pizza. The Detroit was my favorite; delicious vodka sauce and so much cheese! The CBR was huge and was exactly what you would expect. The Crumbling Vodka was good and had a tiny bit of heat to it which was nice. My daughter also picked mozzarella sticks; they were crunchy and piping hot.
The food was good but the service was even better. I asked for the slices to be warm, not lava-hot, and they heated them perfectly. My son, upon sitting down, immediately knocked over his apple juice, spilling it all over the table and floor (thankfully, we were outside; could have been worse!). A bus boy (Keith) saw it happen and ran to grab napkins and dishcloth to clean it up. It was cleaned before the cap could make it back to the bottle! Amazing service! He also brought us a brand new apple juice, which was above and beyond what we deserved! I would recommend this place to anyone! Management is doing...
Read moreI used to really enjoy the food here. The pizza is good. And the pasta dishes used to be very good. The sauce used to taste authentic. But lately things are lacking. Last time I got the vodka sauce and it was Terrible. Probably the worst vodka sauce I've ever had. After that I decided to go with the pesto, which was very much lackluster. Just recently, I ordered the baked ziti hoping that it was still the same. But it wasn't. My guests commented that the sauce would have been better from a jar. Unfortunately, I had to agree with them (never in my life did I ever think I would agree that a jarred sauce would be better). I had all of these sauces in the past from this restaurant and never had a complaint. But something has definitely changed.
I noticed a downfall in the taste and quality of the pizza as well. I used to love just grabbing a slice, especially some of the specialty slices. But lately, there seems to be a bad taste to most of the slices. Just not fresh. The regular cheese pizza seems kind of mehh lately too.
For the quality that I'm receiving lately I would rather just go somewhere else....
