Layers Bakeshop — Restaurant in Town of Islip

I ordered four different cupcakes. Oreo, Red Velvet, Strawberry, and m&m. They all basically tasted the same. The cake was moist but the cream seemed like it was the same for all, just with different stuff mixed in. The red velvet should've had cream cheese icing but just had regular cream. The oreo tasted exactly the same as the red velvet and they should have very different flavors. They were okay, but nothing to write home about. It doesn't seem like anyone is ever in there hanging out. They have a few couches and coffee tables but the atmosphere is akin to sitting in the front of the carvel in the same shopping center. I ordered a birthday cake for my son from here. I requested a specific style cake inspired by a YouTube show. Other bakers gave me prices that were kind of high and/or said that the design would be hard to tackle. Layers Bakeshop did not hesitate to take my order and the design came out great! My son was extremely surprised. It tasted amazing too. They were able to make it a Belgian chocolate cake, which is his favorite! The price was super reasonable as well. Their Nutella brownie is what dreams are made of BUT depends on the day. When it’s fresh it’s the best thing I’ve ever eaten but problem is we won’t know if it’s truly fresh and made that day.

I agree with someone else saying they don’t really cater to people with allergies. My husband went in and asked if anything they have might be egg free as we have a toddler with an egg allergy and the lady looked at him and said- UM SIR THIS IS A BAKERY, you’re in the wrong place for egg free!
