Trio Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Islip

The banquet manager was very nice during the planning process but the day of the party she was extremely rude and sarcastic. She was horrible to the person that delivered the cake for me. There was no one upstairs by the front door directing people to where the party was because the manager was to busy talking to the country club members at the bar so the baker and the guests had no idea where to go. She told 2 mothers that were trying to get chicken nuggets and french fries off the buffet for their kids that they were for the kids only with an attitude. She made my sister buy snickers bars for $2.50 a piece. The kids took them off the bar and ate them because they thought it was for the party meanwhile I spent over $2000 on the party and she was worried about a couple of snickers bar. Absolutely ridiculous, she should have put them behind the bar if she was going to nickel and dime my guests. I had to tell the waitstaff to serve the cake multiple times before all the guests filled up on the cookies and the sundaes which was for the kids. She wouldn't serve any of my guests coffee until the desert came out. It was just absolutely disgusting the way my guests and I were treated, there was no organization and the food was only mediocre. To top it all off I called the owner of the restaurant a couple of days later to let him know about my experience and he was just as horrible and rude. He was trying to justify why his manager acted the way she did instead of being apologetic and hung up on me because I guess he didn't like critism. I have been in the restaurant business for many many years and the way the owner and the manager acted was extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend this...

We have had many party’s here in years prior. I love the room and the food is always very tasty . After booking 50 people for a shower we had 20 decline in this sensitive time still people scared of COVID . With all that said I payed for 50 and although the shower was fabulous, food very good After signing the contract with tax and gratuity included I was told to make an envelope for 5 people and the normal is 50 pp I am a hairdresser and believe me we tip well . This was not a cheep event and we paid well. If I want to tip the wait staff I will , I don’t like to be told to. Secondly the head girl told us after the food was removed that all that was left was 1 tray with some pasta and 3 pcs of chicken !!!!!! If let’s say 15 people did not come and I paid for them , would there not be enough food had they come ????? I was confused ?? Was willing to let it go But the bridal party was also upset by this !!! Shouldn’t there be a lot more food left to take home ??????? A miracle happened and 5 more trays of left over food appeared !! Now I know I was being lied to and the 4 helpers who had a hard language barrier and were hard to communicate with when asking for any thing , we’re taking the food we paid for home ! This left a very bad taste in our mouths and i would think twice about booking another party here . Love the Venue Liked the food Didn’t like...

To start my review, I just wish there were more stars in the food and service category. Trio deserves 10 ⭐'s for both.

This restaurant handles two types of food service, restaurant seating and catering for small to large parties. I've now experienced both. My most recent was a repast after a funeral. When everyone is emotional, the last thing the family needs is problems with the food service. Well, in our case, more people showed up than were originally expected. The staff at Trio didn't miss a beat. They set up additional tables in a flash and quickly had the tables set. We had buffet style dining and the selection was outstanding, with something for everyone. From soup to nuts, everything was delicious. They had fish, beef, vegetarian selections and even offered coffee and dessert. (by the way, if I had known how good the desserts would've been, I might have eaten a little less dinner.)

The service is impeccable, everything is clean and fresh, the linens and tablecloths were spotless.

I'd like to add that Trio is on the grounds of the Holbrook Country Club. You can grab lunch and drinks after you play, just show up and they accommodate parties of all sizes. You won't be...
