First time dining there myself. GF eats there from time to time. She usually gets poke bowl. We had dinner at home tonight and it was bad. Not that the food was rotten. It was just a very horrible meal.
First off, we ordered two orders of fried rice, two pints of soup, order of assorted dumplings (4 in an order) and an order of California rolls. Complete order.
$70.00 for this. WAY overpriced (the fried rice orders were just about double what a normal Chinese restaurant charges for edible food). Not sure where they get the rice from but it must be imported daily from the best rice paddies in Japan. Not worth the price for the amount of food ordered.
Now we get to the food. I (57 years old) cook daily but today was tired from working in the cold so we decided to try something new. This was not a good idea.
Tasteless. Everything was about as tasteless as you could try to make it.
Pork fried rice was foul. Pork looked and tasted as if it was boiled raw and then slapped under a salamander for 2 minutes to hide the fact that all the flavor had been boiled out of it. The pork was not seasoned in any way. Normally, it looks like Chinese ribs chopped small to be added to rice. Not this. This was exactly as described. The rice was equally flavorless and undercooked. For a people know for their rice, this was pretty bad. Ingredients in the fried rice included egg and green squash diced. That's it. The rice was flavorless. Usually places will add some Mirin or Soy sauce, butter, salt/pepper. Something to add some interest to the dish. Not these guys. It was about as interesting and enjoyable as eating a cereal box mixed with warm water.
to be fair, maybe they are known better for their sushi. However, since these dishes are offered on the menu, I would expect them to be as tasteful (or at least HAVE a taste) as the rest of the menu.
Never eating here again. Never recommending this place to anybody. Not even going to attempt to give it a second chance and I strongly advise anybody who has some self respect for their taste buds to do the same. I could forgive the expense if the food was worth it. I don't mind paying for good food and understand the added cost of dining out but this was just baaaaaad on so many levels that it is...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at TOA Asian Fusion in Sayville, and I’m still relishing the experience. From start to finish, every dish was nothing short of exceptional, making this one of the finest meals I’ve ever enjoyed.
I began with the Hawaiian Poke Bowl, a delightful explosion of fresh flavors. The vibrant fish was perfectly marinated, and each bite brought a refreshing mix of textures, from crisp veggies to tender rice. The harmony between flavors made it an absolutely ideal way to start the meal.
Next came the Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice, and I was immediately taken by how well the sweetness of the pineapple paired with the savory chicken and fried rice. The flavors were rich yet balanced, with each ingredient contributing something special. It was sweet, savory, and just the right amount of spice to make it truly irresistible.
The Mongolian Skillet followed, and it took the meal to the next level. Served sizzling hot, the tender meat and flavorful sauce made it a standout dish. The bold, rich flavors with a hint of heat created an unforgettable experience. It was satisfying and hearty, the kind of dish you’ll crave again and again.
One dish that really stood out was the Yellowtail Jalapeno. The yellowtail was beautifully fresh, and the hint of spice from the jalapeno brought out the delicate flavors of the fish without overpowering it. It was light, refreshing, and an absolute must-try.
Of course, the miso soup was the perfect warm-up before diving into their incredible sushi selection. The sushi was nothing short of spectacular – every roll was fresh, expertly crafted, and beautifully presented. The balance of textures and flavors in the sushi was pure perfection.
Overall, TOA Asian Fusion in Sayville left me absolutely enchanted. The combination of innovative, flavorful dishes, the pleasant ambiance, and outstanding service make it a must-visit destination for any food lover. I can confidently say I’ll be coming here for the rest of my life, and I highly recommend anyone who appreciates fine-quality food to give TOA a try. You’ll...
Read moreFirst of all I’d like to say that my first experience here was dining in back in 2019 and it was excellent, a five out of five stars easily for service, food quality, and decor. I recognize that restaurants have been hard hit by the COVID19 restrictions in NY, however, my recent delivery order was a stark contrast in food quality and I don’t think I’ll order again. I will note, online ordering was very easy, delivery was free and they even offer a 15% discount; the order arrived quickly and was hot which is another reason I was so shocked about the lack of flavor, to be honest there really wasn’t any. General Tso chicken had the spicy peppers thrown in but no heat what so ever in the sauce and on top of that it was incredibly bland. Moving over to the chicken teriyaki it was so loaded with cheap black pepper flakes that my wife couldn’t even eat it and she wanted to call for a refund (which we did NOT do btw). Spring rolls and sauce were very good, but the pork dumplings were just massive pouches of “bread” with literally a Hershey’s Kiss sized filling, really disappointing. The shrimp dumplings weren’t bad but again not even the sauce gave them any flavor. It seems obvious that they don’t have the same talent in the kitchen that made this place so incredible last year, I’m a local resident and I hope that this feedback helps them to “right the ship.” At the very least, try it for yourself, I hope to be able to leave five stars if I can give it another try sometime in the future but for...
