My boyfriend and I spent a night here as a little getaway. Let me tell you, we had a fantastic time! Ari and Mark are welcoming, kind and have the gift of making you feel like you’re part of the family. The house is exactly what you imagine a bed and breakfast to look like if you pictured one in your head. The vibe was amazing and you could tell there was a lot of thought put into it, and it’s maintained nicely. It’s within minutes of the ferry and close to the town as well. Mark & Ari were extremely helpful in mentioning food places to eat and some other nightlife. We stayed in the “Tammy” room which was lovely. The en suite bathroom was beautiful and immaculately cleaned. We had originally booked in another room, however, my boyfriend is 6’4 and Ari and Mark were very kind and let is know that due to his height, the room we had wouldn’t be comfortable for him. They allowed us to look at the other 2 rooms and gave us our choice. It was extremely kind of them to be so observant and do their best to make sure we were comfortable. During the evening, we chatted and enjoyed listening to Mark play the piano. In the morning, a continental breakfast is included which was delicious. Ari is a French trained chef and made all of the pasteries from scratch. I highly Suggest taking advantage of that when you visit.
We can’t wait to be back ! Thank you Ari & Mark for making our first bed and breakfast...
Read moreI stayed there for 9 nights, if I remember correctly. I had an art show in the Hamptons and I stayed in the Ethel Merman room with Ari and Mark as our hosts. They were AMAZING. The attention to detail was wonderful, the amenities, were wonderful, the cleanliness was wonderful. The area in the back yard with the pool was so peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast service was fantastic. Ari is a real culinary master and each day we were provided with wonderful breakfasts and stimulating conversation as well. Mark is a soft spoken, gentle soul and was such a joy to be around.
The ambience of the house was great as well. It is an older home, that still retains all of its charm. The bathroom was well apportioned, and the pressure from the shower-head was better than any place I have ever stayed, period. After a long day of bouncing here and there, there is nothing better than good pressure in the shower. The bed was comfortable as well.
The sitting area in the living room was comfortable and they offer a nightcap service and I enjoyed that one evening with great conversation as well.
I just can't find anything negative about our experience there. I recommend it HIGHLY. ...
Read moreThis is a very peaceful and beautiful bed and breakfast to the truest nature of the words. The hosts where incredibly accommodating and incredibly friendly. They were even nice enough to give us a lift to the ferry when we were running late. The rooms were neat and adorable. The breakfast was spectacular with the highlight being the home made breads made every morning at 5am. There is also a pool and hot tub for those who want to avoid the beach but still get wet. This location although on a map seems far from the Fire Island Ferry depot, is actually conveniently close as catching the $6 bus from the train station which is a block away which will also bring you back with schedules that coincide with the ferry schedule. With that being said, it is incredibly easy to get to if you are coming from the City and perfect for a convenient place to stay as an alternative to the crowded and over priced alternatives in Fire Island. As most events on Fire Island fade close to the last ferry time, it is a convenient and relaxing location to sleep after a long day on the beach or other activities. I will be coming back with a group of friends next time we go to...
