Went to have dinner with a very dear friend I've known for over four decades is that I haven't seen in years so we went to the Daily Planet. I haven't been to the Daily Planet in over 25 years. The prices were a little high but the food was outstanding. I had the turkey with stuffing, cranberry sauce, corn bread, mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables dinner with fresh homemade gravy. The vegetables were green and yellow squash carrots and little bit of broccoli. The veggies were cooked absolutely perfect. The price I think was $17.95 which really isn't too bad. I have a chewing problem right now so being that the veggies were cooked al dente which is perfect for me I could not eat them so I took them home to cook them more and be able to eat them. My friend had the California Burger. She said her Burger meal was delicious. I saw her plate and the lettuce and tomato looked very fresh and her Burger was done to her liking. She also had sauteed mushrooms and sauteed onions put on her Burger. I was happy to see that the Burger came with avocado and they put a very nice portion of avocado on that burger. The bun was nice and fresh and smelled wonderful also. I am a huge Burger lover and I can't eat burgers right now. But you can bet when I can start eating burgers again I'm definitely going to order one from here. We also ordered the dinner of their homemade macaroni and cheese and we split it as an appetizer between the two of us. That was delicious! That was my friend's suggestion and what a great suggestion that was. The macaroni and cheese was creamy, very flavorful with nice texture. I do not like spending money when I can get a 50 Cent box of macaroni and cheese at home it bugs me spending nearly $20 for macaroni and cheese in a restaurant. But this was penne rigate shaped pasta done in a cheese sauce that I believed had three different kinds of cheeses in it and it was baked with a crumb topping. It was phenomenal! I also took that home. My one criticism with my turkey dinner was that the turkey was very dry. No amount of gravy is going to fix that. That's a problem with turkey and that can happen with anybody. So I took my turkey home and I made turkey salad with it. Problem solved on the dryness because I used mayonnaise. I also noticed that some of the meals did not come with soup or salad so people who may be looking for that just make sure you pay attention on the menu which do and which don't. Especially for the prices that they are asking. This isn't your regular type of diner diner. But they do serve some diner food and you can get breakfast for dinner. We had the chocolate mousse cheesecake for dessert. That was an eye ball rolling back in your head fantastic.!! As I mentioned above I have a chewing problem right now and I'm missing 3/4 of my bottom teeth due to jaw transplant from cancer. So I was able to eat the chocolate mousse with no problem. I also took that home. It was the most I've eaten in a long time at one sitting. With a little bit of turkey, all of the stuffing, a little bit of mashed potatoes, a lot of the macaroni and cheese and a portion of the dessert. I have had many meals with the leftovers. In fact I still have a little bit of it in my refrigerator. Our waiter his name was Fernando I believe. He was a really great waiter and accommodated me when I needed many extra napkins and more water. We had a fantastic dinner with great company. My friend and I were able to catch up and just spend time together which made it even better. Great food and great company! I would definitely go back to the Daily Planet.

I scouted this place alone to sample the food & service/ & to find a new weekly lunch meeting joint for a large group of traveling colleague. Here was my experience… I ordered a salad asking to exclude any onions,,, my waitress brought the salad with a large amount of onions piled on top of it. I did not see my waitress after dropping off my order. Not once to ask if I needed anything in the 30 minutes I was there. I had to flag down a busboy for napkins and then walk to the front reception to request my check when I completed my meal. I was given a single napkin with my meal order. That’s what I said, a single napkin. No tables had any napkin dispensers on them, including my own. The turkey cranberry panini sandwich was a disappointment. It was basically a turkey sandwich slightly toasted. I talked to the manager after my meal to relay my experience… I wasn’t met with a sincere understanding of my experience- instead my bill was credited a couple of bucks. I think I will pass and continue looking for a new place.

We unexpectedly stumbled upon this diner when looking for somewhere to eat on our ride home to Jersey. This diner is worth a stop on your list! It was so cute inside-everything was decorated with cool posters on the walls, even the bathrooms and spunky light fixtures covered the ceiling. There was a "soda shop" area, a "bakery" area, and a bar with some seating. They had a decent amount of booths/bar chairs -only half of which were open when we were there, but seems like that depends on the time you go. I got a lunch special -Mac and cheese & pulled pork grilled cheese, it was amazing. Also ordered were a chicken sandwich, eggs Benedict, and a "down under" burger, all of which came out great. We tried a cream soda and headed back on the road with our black and white cookies (only one pictured because I ate mine too fast) 🤭 Everything is very clean, prices are great, atmosphere is very welcoming, service was good We would go back again!

The food is tasty and fairly priced. Wide array of desserts ranging from cakes, custards and sundaes. Oddly enough, there are potted plants on the table, right next to where you eat, which is questionable (and how many customers toss the rest of their glasses of water onto that poor plant every day?!). In the vestibule are two “claw” games, and a nice sculpture overhead of the diner’s logo. Above the dining tables hang decorative chandeliers peculiarly shaped like the coronavirus. A ramp leads up to one of the main doors, so handicapped people are accommodated. The bathroom is clean, and the parking lot has ample space. Finally, the waitstaff use wireless contactless cardnet terminals, which simplifies paying the check.

The food was delicious. It was flavorful. The fried chicken and waffles was the best thing I ever had.
