This was always the worst one in the area. Poor staff, frequent fights between staff members and managers in the kitchen area, lack of care towards getting orders right, frequent problems with machines (like the milkshake machine frequently being broken through most of the summer); but at the end of the day it was the closest to home so we tended to visit it anyway. No longer.
Today I decided I wanted to try one of the Signature burgers as a coworker said they actually weren't bad. Ordered it, and took a table near the counter. Messed around on my phone waiting for my number to come up. Heard others being called, but not mine; but didn't think too much of it at the time as I wasn't sure if the Signature line took comparable amount of time to a burger from a regular restaurant. After thirty minutes I asked someone at the counter (who turned out to be a manager) if my food was still coming, and she looked at me like I was an idiot and bluntly said she had thrown the food out since no one had come for it. She began talking to an employee talking about how incredulous she was that I had taken so long to say anything to anyone, then rang up a new order, put another soda cup on the counter without saying another word to me and walked away; all while I was standing less than ten feet from her.
At this point I started watching closely the interactions she was having with her staff, and noticed her frequently belittling them and mocking them when they made mistakes; then loudly began to call out a staff member for asking another employee for help (she went so far as to ask the woman if she was a manager, and said, verbatim, "Why don't you give your headset to someone else and manage the bathroom for a while"). When my food was done, it was just left in a bag on the counter without actually saying anything again, as if they were taunting me to teach me a lesson.
If it's any consolation the sandwich was very good, but for all that is holy, go to the Newark location to get it. It's only 7-10 minutes away if you take Water Street instead of driving through Newark), the building is brand new (built just a few months ago) and the management staff isn't just plain mean like this woman was at the...
   Read moreI have never been treated so rudely by a cashier there in my life! This was on Sunday 9th, 2019 at 4:21 pm Order #8. I waited about 5+ minutes (with no other customers except me) & not a single employee greeted me or asked if i was being helped. Then this girl came around the corner & said she would take my order. I informed her that I hade a code # from a prior mistake & gave it to her. She asked for my receipt. I said I did have it & the Gentleman Manager I spoke with the day it happened said just to give the #. She walked away & went to the back & asked someone (a Manager) whom said yes! I recognized the voice, It was Tara (Manger I know very well). As i ordered i explained how I wanted My burger topped. She said the always come with Cheese & I replied: I ONLY want Catchup & Mayo. Nothing else! Then I asked about the Muffins to which she ignored me, I asked again, she answered. Then told me my total, & i said but I would also like 2 apple pies, she ignored me again, I said excuse me, did you not hear me... She corrected the order, handed me my receipt & walked to the back. A Manager walked up beside her & I could hear her talking about me! & also to a cook on the line. I don't even know what I did to create this type of response except point out that they have regularly messed up my order & I simply wanted my burger made with the toppings I ordered. When the Manager said who? Who? I said me! She turned around so fast to look at me, I laughed. Then after the cashier ignored me 2 times when I said excuse me because i wanted my soda cup. I then asked the manager standing there to please get my cup; & she did. Then I asked that Manager to get Tara & she did.    Read moreI have gone to plenty of places and ordered simple meals just like I had the other night June 27th. I was with 3 of my very close friends when I say we had been treated horrible by the night staff at this Mc Donaldâs. We had made our orders and my friend ordered a number 3 with no cheese and the bored on the drive thru had said with cheese so my friend had politely clarified that it was with no cheese and the lady taking our order had started to give my friend an attitude about what my friend had ordered. Once we had pulled up to the window one of my other friends had said the bored did read with cheese in a very calm and polite voice, once this was said the lady working the register had started to yell and curse and me and my friends, mind you we are only teenagers. Then my friend had said polity may I see your manager as she walks away cursing to and about us. When the manager arrives he does apologize nor acknowledge the way his staff is acting towards paying customers. Once we get to the second window to get our food it takes almost a half an hour before he hands us our food, then my friend had polity said that this situation should have been handed better which it should have and then the manager starts to give us attitude saying that we are not welcome back.
