My husband and I and our daughter decided Tuesday night we were going to try out Hooligan’s for the first time. We had saw it before they opened and had never been to the one in Webster before and since we’re local figured it’d be the perfect time that night to try it out. We got there at about 5:20pm and were seated pretty quickly after like 3 minutes of getting into the restaurant which was great. We had a great server who was also really nice. Everyone who worked there seemed very nice. Our daughter wanted chips and queso but when we saw it was $10 for that alone we decided to get the Hooligan’s sampler plate instead as it had more food so everyone was able to try something and also thought $10 just for chips and queso was too much. After that we ended up ordering our dinner and my husband got a burger which came with macaroni salad, he wanted fries and that was an up charge which I thought was really stupid to be honest because usually at restaurants there are more than one side options. If there were we had no idea because when he said he wanted fries our sever told us it was going to be an up charge so pretty if you don’t want the macaroni salad you’ll be charged for something else as an up charge which I think is wrong. I also had a similar issue with my order, I ordered the macaroni and cheese and it came with either a regular salad or a Caesar salad which was ok because I wanted the Caesar salad but still didn’t like that as if someone wanted something else besides what they offered it was a up charge. My daughter also ordered macaroni and cheese but off the kids menu. We also ordered a strawberry daiquiri with Malibu rum. When we got the sampler plate we started trying everything and were really disappointed. The queso was spicy and didn’t really taste too much like queso. We tried the mozzarella wedges and they were mostly all breading, not a lot of cheese. The chicken tenders were ok and the buffalo logs I didn’t try but my husband did and said those were good. That was the only thing that tasted good on the sampler plate which was disappointing and I wish I had said something then but I felt bad saying something as it hasn’t been opened for a very long time yet so I didn’t. We then got the daiquiri and it tasted like juice and ice with Malibu rum. We then got our dinner not too long after, my husband said his burger was okay. My daughter enjoyed her food. My Mac & cheese was okay but the Caesar salad had a lot of pieces of wilted lettuce in it. When we saw our bill we were honestly pretty suprised , $87. Now I don’t mind paying more for good food but with our experience it wasn’t worth the almost $100 we paid for everything plus tip. All in all if it weren’t for the bad food, I would’ve been able to leave a better review and I can see that other people have had better experiences based on reviews but this was just our experience I wanted to share. The design of the place is great and so is the service as well as the workers but in our experience the food wasn’t good especially for the price we paid. I’m not sure if we will come back to try it again or not. Hopefully they improve these...
Read moreWell, I wanted to like it. But, unfortunately our experience was not great. We got seated right away, which was nice. We both ordered burgers. When they arrived half an hour later, they looked great. I bit into mine expecting that beefy, juice running down my chin kind of burger that I've come to expect from almost any place that isn't fast food. What I got was a mouth full of semi-dry beef that was completely flavorless. I even pulled out some of the beef to try it on its own and...nothing. no taste what so ever. The fries looked good. To me a good fry is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The best have extra coating or seasoning. I popped a fry into my mouth and chewed. And chewed and chewed and chewed. No crisp. Just chewy. No seasoning other than a trace of salt. They had more flavor than the beef though! My husbands burger was the same experience as mine. He did like the macaroni salad though. The area where we were seated was in the center of the restaurant. The acoustics are so bad that it was so loud we couldn't talk to each other without yelling. We looked around at the people seated at the tables around us and none of them were talking either. There was a party of about 16 people in the room next to us and a group of people at the bar and even with no music playing it was as though they all had microphones and everyone else was completely drowned out. The sound just bounces around the entire place. I'm sorry to leave such a poor review but I believe a place can't improve if nobody says anything. Unfortunately the waitstaff was so busy I didn't feel comfortable stopping them to talk. We finally just...
Read moreWe waited over an hour to be seated with a group of 5 then they put us at a table with room for only 4. So when the server left we pulled our own chair from an empty table. As far as the service the servers we had took 3 drink orders that by the end of the night never even got fulfilled. The time between someone coming to check on us was around 20 ish minutes and it wasn’t the same server so we order drinks again which never showed up again! The food was terrible not a single box was taken home and around 70% of the food was untouched and the last server to come see us(different from the first 3) she seemed insulted when we said it wasn’t good. The BLT wrap I ordered must have been done earlier than the rest of my table because my fries were refied again full of grease and dark dark brown. The wrap must have been under a heat lamp to keep it warm or something because the mayo and tomatoes were scolding hot and the bacon was the coldest thing in the wrap. We returned a full order of wings after the first 2 were spat out by the table. Needless to say I’m going to drive even further to go to the Webster hooligans if I ever have the urge...
