Fritz's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Town of Mayfield

I’m not sure why this place has gone down hill ! Years ago the food was pretty good and we never had any complaints, I have never called to complain before today even after the last few bad visits…the last few visits have been absolutely awful… Don’t order an antipasto salad because you get a small container of regular salad no peppers or anything special, don’t order crispy pepperoni pizza because you get rock hard crust and burned cheese barely edible… the crust was literally almost burned and dark…I called to let a manager know and all that she could say was “you wanted crispy pepperoni and now it’s too crispy?” Bring both pizzas back and I’ll make you new ones.. I am not driving a half hour back because of your mistakes! I literally was just trying to explain what they did so it would not happen again and the woman acted like I just wanted free food ! With an attitude like that assuming that people just want something for free instead of taking responsibility for your mistake you don’t deserve our hard earned money ! You need a new manager or...

SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!! We will NOT be giving this establishment our business again!!! After going to pick up our food and finding out our pizzas were never made, we were ok and willing to just come back. No big deal. When we came back, we were given 2 of the worst looking pizzas I've ever seen, along with our fried food. Our fried food had sat for about a half hour and instead of owning their mistake and just making new food, they just re-fried everything. We got oil soaked nasty food that we couldn't eat. Also, our wings (which we ordered crispy) were soggy and greasy. Not at all eatable. When we called, the man on the phone actually said "I wondered how that food was going to be". We took a third trip to get this corrected and were only given replacements for a few items, and only compensated for one order of wings, which we couldn't even eat. We paid over $80 to eat chicken tenders and fries! The only thing worse than the food, was the service! I feel bad for anyone else who had to deal with this tonight. We used to love getting food here, but...

IMO it's the best pizza in the area. It's not anything special, just generic good take-out pizza. The wings are good, also nothing special, but good. The food hits the spot. I like the drive up window for pickup.

Only reason I give 4 starts out of 5 is for phone ordering. They don't have an answering machine / phone queue. If someone is currently placing an order, you'll receive a busy tone when trying to call. This is incredibly frustrating as you'll be calling back multiple times on the chance the call is done. On one instance it took me ~20 minutes of calling to place the order. It gets pretty bad on Friday nights and weekends. I think a phone queue machine would be a good investment for the management of this place to make.

Edit Nov. 2021 - I changed this to 3 stars because of the continuing phone order issues. It's been over a year since the original review and nothing has changed. You're met with a busy tone EVERY SINGLE TIME. Good luck getting through...
