Mrs K's Kitchen — Restaurant in Town of Middleburgh

My wife and I stopped in at Mrs. K's today on our motorcycle ride through the Catskill's on a recommendation by a local fellow we talked to at the corner gas and convenience store. We parked our bike in a spot on main street and walked across to Mrs. K's. When we came in the front door, we knew this was going to be a unique experience. After we sat at a table, an "Aunt Bea" type of lady came over to welcome us and point out her specials of the day, "all home made, too, Honey" she stated. We decided on the hot turkey platter with the fixins and it was all home made and really good. When Mrs. K came back over to our table, we asked her if she was the owner and about the place. She told us she was, now with her daughter too. She said she ran a grocery store and meat market there since 1958 and then the restaurant since 1980. The place was great, bright and clean and there also was a fellow toward the back of the room playing music and singing. He sang some classic songs and had a few fans gathered around him who were really enjoying his songs. We will make it a point to get back here whenever we can because of Mrs. K! Mrs K's Kitchen in the beautiful Village of Middleburgh is like many small town restaurants, more than a place to dine but a meeting place. Walking in you are greated by many large tables along with 4 tops with friends and families together having breakfast or lunch. It's a destination where people get together and share stories of or fuel up before tackling whatever the day holds for them. Mrs K's features normal breakfast and lunch fare, they are known for their generous portions, fluffy pancakes and a changing menu of homemade pies featuring fruits from the surrounding farms. We decided on takeout before tackling some yard work on a recent Saturday morning, pancakes, waffles and 2 BEC sandwiches on rolls. For the encore their strawberry rhubarb pie and strawberry shortcake topped with whipped cream. All delicious but I found the waffles had bit of perhaps nutmeg that I could do without. I don't feel you can go wrong stopping in for a bite before or after touring the shops on Mainstreet of the surrounding area. Try Mrs K's for a real touch...

Oh, what a delightful experience! I really love this place. We have found our new breakfast niche. I must say Miss K’s kitchen was an unexpected treat. We were greeted by friendly staff and had a wonderful Breakfast. I must say, the place was spotless as we ate our breakfast we watched them clean the tables and the chairs. Our breakfast was cooked perfectly and delivered to our table by friendly staff members. They had quite An extensive menu and we plan to return for lunch another day and breakfast quite frequently. This is become our new go to breakfast spot beating out all other little holes in the wall in Schoharie county. I must say again what a delightful experience!! We just love Miss...
