Ming Jie's House — Restaurant in Town of Montgomery

Ordered general tso dinner combo and crab Rangoon. I ordered delivery. Unfortunately they forgot to put in the sauce for delivery, so I called them to see if they could bring the sauce. That call was at 8:49 on and now it is 9:18 pm. In addition to this, I am still waiting. Also, I called to see what was going on,and received an attitude saying I had to wait for the delivery driver. Well it's been 29 minutes now. Keep in mind, I live down the street from the establishment. Just avoid ordering delivery at all here. Horrible customer service. The person made me feel it was my fault for them messing up. Just go to the other Chinese food place in town, Green Jade. At least there, you receive great customer service. Update: called again 44 minutes later and was told they do not serve sauce with crab Rangoon. Interesting. The lady could have told me that rather than having me wait that long and saying a driver would bring the sauce. Also, their general tso tastes like they put soap in it. Threw out the food, it was disgusting. Just going to...

My wife is Chinese and considered a very good cook back home. The only Chinese restaurant I will go to since tasting real Chinese cooking is Ming Jie House.

We have been going there for more than 10 years now. The owner, Rong, the staff and many of the other diners have become friendly with us and very often it feels more like a family dinner with the whole restaurant rather than the usual no one knows or cares about you.

My wife may have said it best when years ago she told me "Honey, those other Chinese restaurants are cheating you, they cook American style Chinese. Ming Jie's cooking is very pure".

The home style cooking specials posted on the walls are always superb. I especially like the Avocado Shakes (all the shakes are GREAT, they make real shakes not from mixes), the Vietnamese Coffee and the Cantonese Noodle dishes.

The dining room is nice,not like a real romantic atmosphere more for just eating , & lots of places to sit. The food is the best we’ve had , switched from another place after being disappointed so much, glad we came here & will from now on. The parking is street but there is usually an empty spot . I ordered a variety for Father’s Day dinner & our family could see the difference- fresh, colorful, yummy,not skimpy. Shrimp, boneless ribs, chicken & cashew nuts, PuPu platter, ALL the takeout was EXCELLENT. The lady at the counter who rang us up was so sweet!!
