I have never gone out of my way to write a review, but for the experience my family and I had tonight, I think a review is necessary and should be shared to warn future patrons of this “establishment.” We we’re excited to try a small town business and happy to have an easy birthday dinner there for my dad. The only good part of this experience was the company we brought along with us. If I could give 0 stars I would. When we ordered food the female owner was nothing but flat and rude. She had no sense of hospitality and acted like the restaurant was booming and like she didn’t have time for us… mind you, there were 6 other guests there at the time so it was not busy regardless of what to-go orders they had. She herself stated it was a “slow night”. My sister asked her if she was OK and what was wrong because of her attitude toward us. She said “my husband and I have owned this pizzeria for 9 years so how do you expect me to act”…. Not the answer you’d expect from a business owner. But okay. She went on to complain about the temperature in the kitchen and was ready to be home with her kids. Not something you say to guests either. The icing on the cake was, it was my dad’s birthday. My mom simply ordered dessert for my dad for his birthday and asked if she could hand deliver them herself (as in my mom deliver them to him) so we could sing happy birthday to him as a family. Doable right? But no. The owner took it upon herself to send out the dessert without my mom knowing and dropped the dessert of at the table and said she got “distracted.” Mind you, we waited inside at the counter for them and we spent hundreds of dollars there and gave 20% tips for everything we purchased. The customer service is totally lacking here. The experience we had tonight was embarrassing and the owner should be embarrassed for her unprofessional behavior and attitude toward her guests. Nothing like eating burnt pizza, having the wrong sauces on our wings, and watery bleu cheese and ranch. Do better. Or allow someone more experienced to do your job. 9 years and your “business” feels brand new.
I would like to say there was a young kid working tonight (I wish I caught his name) who did a fantastic job and was very pleasant every time he stopped by our table. Kudos to him for his hospitality and...
Read moreThis pizzeria is hidden in plain sight. It's in an old home and easy to drive past if you're not paying close attention. That said, the setting gives it a unique charm. I shared the large Varsity Supreme pizza with my wife. The brick oven pie had a delicious mix of prosciutto, pancetta, caramelized onion, roasted red pepper and roasted garlic. I was a little disappointed with the size of the pizza. I thought I'd have leftovers, but the flavor tempered that. I'd definitely order it again. My son got a half dozen honey BBQ wings. The wings were good sized and he stopped after four. I ate the other two. They had a sweet flavor. I'd also recommend the wings. That leaves my daughter's order of chicken fingers off the children's menu. The fingers looked smaller than fingers. I've never seen chicken served in such a meager way. As she described them, "They look like shrimp and taste like chicken." Overall, our experience was very good and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
UPDATE: Varsity Supreme is just as delicious as ever. My son tried the A Bomb pizza this time. He was caught off guard by how spicy it was. He said it was hotter than the 7-alarm chicken wing I had in Seattle. I tried a slice (it was good) and while it had a kick, it wasn't even close to as hot as the wing. He went on to finish the pizza with no complaints....
Read moreThis place was amazing! Delicious! Fantastic! I cannot wait to go again and it's an hour drive for me to get there! Thin crust Neapolitan style pizza, great sauce, crisp but still soft foldable crust & dough cooked to perfection. Had medium size veggie with added olives and medium size traditional Margaretta but added pepperoni for added kick. Yum! Fed three of us just fine with no leftovers. Next time I'll order a bit more so I can enjoy extras later! Next time I will also order chicken wings as they looked and smelled delicious! Very small place so plan ahead timing when to go if you want a table as this place can get packed... Or order ahead for pickup. If packed you will need to wait in line to order. Very nice, quaint, charming, warm, inviting! Huge selection of pizzas, sandwiches, panini... Plus create your own. Beer, wine, sodas. Very reasonably priced. A great treat and fun. Was looking for a place to take a friend out from South Bristol and so glad to have settled on this place and look forward to returning... Sooner rather than later! Only wish it was closer to...
