DeCicco & Sons Millwood — Restaurant in Town of New Castle

First off, I love DeCiccos! But unfortunately I have to say this location has given way too many bad experiences. Well it will be my last at this location today. Arrived at 12:15pm. The hot food section was a mess, the trays were 3/4 empty and 2 of the Soup pots were down to nothing. (((((How is this even possible 15 min into the beginning of lunch)))) I stopped one of the staff members and asked when the soup would be replenished. She went back and asked the kitchen. She returned and told me 15 min. Well the turned into 30 min. I then asked the kitchen staff if they could tell me if it was ready. The gentleman said another 20 min!!! I told him I had been waiting over 30 min and was told 15. He then said in a very nasty, sarcastic response….”Sorry it’s only me doing everything”…..this is not my first experience with terrible staff attitudes at this location. Its sad because I love all of there food and products and never had a poor experience at any...

A top of the line marketplace featuring a smaller selection of high end groceries, as well as many varieties of prepared foods. Friendly customer service, easy to access free parking lot & visually pleasing for a grocery store. More like a "Trader Joe's" or "Fairway" type of market rather than a "Stop & Shop" type of store, so expect to pay a bit more 💰 for items compared with a large grocery store chain, however the added cost is worth it in my mind to get their large selection of better for you, better tasting & generally better quality food products- offerings include fresh squeezed juices & produce, very good meats & seafood in addition to certain prepared food items as well as some grocery store staples. While you could do your entire groceries shopping here, it's more so a market to get a few specific things or to purchase generally higher quality, locally sourced food products. Very, very expensive store but they do seem to have nice fruits and vegetables. Bakery and meat selection was underwhelming. The prepared foods counter looked very nice, a lot of choice. The fish counter didn't look that great. Not only was the fish hugely overpriced, but it didn't even look that appealing. I question the quality of some items including the scallops that we're sitting in milky white liquid. Lobster tank was also three-quarters empty. Maybe I just came on an off day before they replenish inventory.

Otherwise there is a very expansive selection of craft beers. There is a nice cafe/bar in the store that had a lovely tropical fish aquarium and some TVs set up.

Overall it's worth checking out, but I wouldn't really advise for regular large...
