Definitely 5 star 🌟 for there Tomato pies! 3 star 🌟 for the experience. When I first pulled up to the restaurant I saw this lady outside smoking a cigarette wading in & out of a door way. I couldn't tell if she was a worker or some random person having a smoke. When I entered the place I went to the counter & was greeted by that same lady. I was kind of surprised as usually the help is in the back or side of the building smoking. She greeted me obnoxiously. I was taken back by her rudeness. My sister called in an order for some tomato pies & apparently talked to the same lady as she told her we don't take orders for that & just stop in before 2:00 pm. She dismissed it at the time. I got there at 1:30, when I told her what name it was under she yelled out "Jones". I told her no that's not the name. I repeated the name again & again she was rude. Then she proceeded to say you have the wrong place. I told her, I'm quite sure I have the correct place as the business that was here before was Tony's. She then proceeded to tell me that I probably ordered it for the one in Utica. I again disagreed with her saying 'no I do have the correct place'. My sister stated it was Roma's across from McDonald's. I then turned to call my sister to confirm it was ordered. I rode in with my elderly mother who waited for me in the car. I got in my car, to call my family to be sure that it was ordered. My sister told me when she spoken to the lady on the phone that they didn't take orders for that & there would be some if they arrived by 2:00 pm. As much as I didn't want to walk back in the place after that scene. I sucked it up & went back. The lady was waiting on a another person, so I patiently waited. A young man behind the counter on the other side saw me & came over to help. He was very polite & pleasant to talk to I explained to him about the tomato pies. He went over to get some pies only at that time there was only one left because the other one was a day old. At that time the lady came back over & wanted to know what was going on. The guy told her that he had it & she walked away. I ended up just buying that one. I was grateful that he was kind. As far as that woman goes I wouldn't address her as a lady as I know ladies don't act like that. If I knew who the owner was I would definitely addressed that whole scene with them about her conduct, very unprofessional one. In this day & age being kind is what matters...I'm not sure what happened in her day that brought about that nasty attitude but it definitely needs to...

Read moreEverytime I've been in this place the service has been absolutely outstanding. Personable and extremely professional. The cuts of products you get here are better than any other deli in and around Utica. The meats always smell good, no slimyness or no problems what so ever. Old nostalgia feeling when walking in to the establishment. Other grocery chains have deli options like Chanantrys, Market 32 etc are nothing in comparison to Roma. Get over to Roma and get your meat cuts, sausage or other rolls, tomatoe pie or any of their outstanding choices. Trust me you...
