Gingerbread Bake Shop — Restaurant in Town of New Hartford

Don’t waste your time here. Recently, my wife placed an order for a cheesecake for my birthday and the business failed to have it ready. My wife did her part by calling a week in advance, and everything was confirmed for a Saturday morning pick up. When she went to pick it up, their were 2 younger workers there. She gave the info for the order and the cashier went into the back to check for the cake. After a few seconds, my wife hears them laughing back there and then the worker came back up front and literally says “There was some confusion, and the cake wasn’t made. We can make it now if you’d like but it won’t be ready until the afternoon.” Nothing else. Now, we get that mistakes happen, but what annoyed us most was that the worker couldn’t even offer an apology. 9 am on Sunday I went in there to get some chocolate covered fingers and apart from 6 halfmoons, 2 raspberry danishes, some blueberry muffins and some cookies, all the shelves were basically cleaned out! Nothing! This is at 9 AM! Although the girls that work there had nothing to do with it, I asked them why they ran out? I asked "Don't the owners know that these items are popular and in demand and that people are still coming in want to buy these things and they should have them available and maybe make MORE?!!! I asked "Don't the owners want to make money?!" I mean...COME ON people! It's a NO BRAINER!!! It's BASIC MATH!!! I've never seen such poor planning and I don't know how they stay in business. They were open from 7 AM until 2 PM. They should be open from 7 AM until 8 AM if THAT'S how they want to roll!! It's called...

They quote one price, charge you another price and refuse to give a refund. Ordered a cake for a five year old boy they told me it would cost $35.40. When my husband went to pick it up they charged him $47.68! Then when I called to ask why the huge increase they said I should have only been charged $41. The cake clearly was not worth $50. It was not a normal sized half sheet cake. It was thinking and not great tasting. I will never order from them again over priced and not worth the money. Even their pies at Thanksgiving were awful. Not good business when you over charge and refuse a refund or store credit at their mistake. If you want good baked goods go elsewhere!! Would never recommend this...
