I ordered take out at this restaurant and it was the worst quality of service and food ever! The amount of money charged for our order was a joke and complete waste of my hard earned money! When I called to ask the gentleman who took our order if the food was ready when we arrived at the restaurant, he demanded that I need to pay first which was a red flag. I refused to do that and asked him to call me when the order was ready. When I went in the restaurant to pick up the food, the young skinny Oriental Thai waitress at the front was not welcoming, had no customer service skills, did not smile, and looked like she was mad with the world! I had to ask her for forks and napkins when that should have been automatically provided in the first place. She only gave 2 cheap small forks and 2 napkins like she was doing me such a huge favor to do so. Then I had to ask her for my credit card receipt which should have also been automatically provided to me as well.
As per the food, the white sticky rice that came with the sweet and sour trout fish was wrapped in a small piece of plastic instead of being packaged in a proper food container! Even fast food restaurants package food properly and provide utensils with napkins! The shrimp fried rice only had a few pieces of shrimp in it. The iced Thai bubble tea was very small for the price charged! I called the restaurant right away and notified the gentleman who took our order of these discrepancies and all he barely said was sorry. This is completely unacceptable and a huge disappointment! They should be ashamed of themselves! Don't these people realize they are conducting a restaurant business in America but they want to be rich overnight by being a ripoff?? We told this gentleman to step it up and never provide the type of service he provided to us to other customers in the future! This was a complete rip off and would never recommend this restaurant for take out and dine in. Their lousy quality of customer service and food will kill the reputation of...
Read moreWarning to anyone with a gluten allergy: Went to SriPraPhai in Williston Park for the first time last night in part because it is written up as one of the top Thai restaurants on Long Island and because it's menu appears to cater to those with a gluten allergy or on a gluten free diet. As it turned out, the menu is very misleading and can, if you have celiac, pose a serious risk to health. The menu marks items on its very extensive menu with a "G" to denote that the item is made with ingredients that contain gluten. The impression that the menu leaves is that every item not marked with a "G" are safe. Many of the remaining items (in fact the majority of remaining items) are marked with an "S" which, it turns out, indicates that the item contains soy sauce. Soy sauce contains gluten but the impression left...because these items are not marked with a "G" is that the chef is using gluten-free soy sauce. On questioning it turns out that the soy sauce is not gluten free which means that none of the items marked with an "S" are gluten free despite the fact that those items (which again is the majority of the menu) are not marked with a "G". The impression, of course, is that except for those items marked with a "G" the entire menu is gluten free. The truth is that almost nothing on the menu is gluten free.
Once we got past this unfortunate fact there was virtually nothing for us to eat. If you have a gluten allergy or for any other reason alone cannot digest gluten I would suggest that you think twice about going to this Williston Park restaurant. Not only do most of the items on the menu contain gluten but unlike Frankly Thai, this restaurant will not alter the preparation to remove the gluten...
Read moreI have come here often with my family on special holidays, but no longer. I don’t know what has happened in the past few years but service is absolutely abysmal now.
My family and I went to SriPraPhai to celebrate Mother’s day. After appetizers, we waited over FORTY minutes waiting for our entrees. We weren’t the only table waiting — at least three other tables complained about the long wait. The wait staff insisted that they were back up… then, why do I see so many take out orders going out when multiple tables are sitting waiting for their food?
One of the waitresses brought out our rice and insisted that our food will be out soon. (Spoiler: it was not. It took another 20 minutes after that and, by then, the rice was cold as our table wanted our rice with the curry we ordered.)
Two tables next to us came in 10 minutes after us and yet they not only got all their food before us, but also had their to-go/left-over containers before we got our entrees.
Management and servers refused to even give a slight discount on our dinner, stating, “If I give you a discount, I would have to give everyone waiting a discount.” Actually, yes, that’s called decent customer service — when you make so many different tables/parties wait so long, that’s what you should do.
We were actually going to walk out when the entrees finally came out after 40 minutes.
All in all, food is decent, but not worth the wait. The lack of proper service is worse than the wait, and more easily preventable. For this lack, this restaurant just lost a repeat customer. There are restaurants with better food for cheaper prices that don’t treat their customers badly. Better to...
