This place has a lot of potential. It is very cozy and has a nice outside patio. For this area it would be a great breakfast lunch Cafe. The small town atmosphere and the shops around this location are very quaint and friendly. I stopped in for breakfast / brunch on a Sunday morning. We were seated right away at a small table near some windows. We were given water and coffee immediately. We waited for 45 minutes before we had food. We ordered a simple breakfast...Eggs, toast, and hash browns. We had to flag down the waitress a number of times for more coffee. The kitchen did seem overwhelmed, and I know there were other parties that were there, however it seemed that are hour and a half breakfast should have only taken 45 minutes, even with a crowd. We had requested that the bacon be very crisp, it was not. Street parking and nice...
Read moreGlenda's is a FANTASTIC little secret in Okauchee, Wisconsin. It is run by Glen, and his wife Brenda (Glenda's is an amalgamation of their names). Everything, including the fantastic pies, cakes, and cheesecakes are made fresh by Glen daily. This is a perfect place to meet up for a meal and to visit, as food can take awhile to prepare due to the fact Glen is the only one cooking. That being said, the wait is always well worth it with the food cooked to order and perfection! Brenda runs the dining room, and often is the only server. Despite this, she is courteous, attentive, and genuinely cares about the experience of everyone who comes through their door. Highly recommend!!! Be sure to check hours online, as they often split the day, and are closed between breakfast/lunch and dinner service for...
Read moreAte brunch at Glenda's Cafe this morning, and it was EXCEPTIONAL. I went with a friend, and we were greeted warmly into the space. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy, which was absolutely sublime. My friend, who doesn't eat meat, ordered the Eggs Benedict but asked if they could substitute the traditional ham for tomato. "No problem", our waitress happily replied, and her dish came as asked, with two glorious slices of ripe tomato under the perfectly poached eggs in place of the ham. Service friendly and attentive, atmosphere very cozy and tastefully decorated, the food to-die-for with an amazing homemade feel. The bill, WITH drinks, came to about $15 a head. And the drinks (I had a spicy Bloody Mary, my friend a Grapefruit Mimosa) were perfect. What. A. Joy. We...
