Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Town of Oneonta

Horrible customer service. I went last night and ordered, and I quote, "a small blizzard with vanilla ice cream and heath bar". When they brought out my blizzard, it was soupy and had loads of chocolate syrup in it, which I did not ask for. When I told them I didn't want the chocolate syrup, the snarky cashier said "well that's how we make it with the heath bar". I kindly asked for her to make me a new one and explained that I did not know it came with chocolate syrup, since I simply ordered vanilla ice cream w/ Heath. Then the girl said that I would have to pay for the one with chocolate syrup if I wanted a new one. I asked for the manager and both teenage workers rudely said he was not in and won't be until the next day. I will NEVER come back to this Dairy Queen. Good food. Great ice cream. Long wait. I have NEVER seen a DQ without at least 2 ppl on staff! Yesterday there was only one very competent young woman working feverishly by herself. Bad for her customers who all waited patiently, bad for her to be expected to handle a mad rush all by herself, and very bad for DQ's reputation! I am glad we went 55 - 60 miles to revisit my childhood since we still do not have a DQ returning to the Binghamton area (or an Orange Julius for that matter). But I am disappointed that the local management failed its staff so miserably! You'd better wake up to your staffing needs! Your loyal patrons may soon decide to start walking away, instead of standing in line for a half...

Whoever the young lady who was working the counter at 1:30 pm, was horribly unhelpful, rude and dismissive. Came to use the BOGO blizzard deal, but was just unsure on how to redeem the award. Girl at the counter, wasn’t sure how to operate the app. That’s understandable, however the attitude given and speaking down like I was stupid was not. Left without ordering anything because it’s not worth it giving money to an establishment with people like that. A little kindness goes a long way, something that young lady needs to learn.

Edit: Why would I ever want to return to this establishment? What’s to say I’m not treated like that the next time I go? Train your staff, before you lose...
