Had to travel to Owego for work and decided to meet up with a friend from Albany and it looked like Oneonta was the halfway point. Google found this place for me and I wasn't disappointed! Had the Iron Cidney as my first round. Solid lager, not disappointed. Went for the Smooth Hoperator for my second. I'm not a huge fan of the Milkshake IPA style, but I was erring on the side of low ABV, my buddy recommended it because he liked it from the flight he ordered, and hazy/Milkshake IPAs annoy my other dear friend Tim (not present but who cares?) On a deeply fundamental level, and any time I can push that button is a good time.
The ambiance is brewery ambiance. Even on a Monday night the place was lively. The food at the taco joint was decent for it being in what I understand to be "Southern Tier" country. Honestly, they make tortilla chips exactly like I make tortilla chips and I'm here for it. If I were a betting man I'd wager they even use the La Banderita white corn tortillas for them. I enjoyed my nachos and the street corn queso was decent (helpful suggestion: mix in some queso blanco or cojita to give it just a bit more oomph). Still, very tasty. Highly recommended if you happen to...
Read moreSuch a fun spot! We love coming here for Monday trivia nights—it's always a blast! Just a heads up: if you’re planning to join, get there early to stake out a table for your group. They allow up to 6 people per team, but you can rotate players in and out if you have a bigger crew. I do wish trivia wasn’t on a Monday (it’s a tough night for those of us who have to work the next day), but I get that it works best for the trivia hostess—who, by the way, is absolutely lovely!
I also appreciate how seriously they take the rules—no cheating here, which keeps the game fun and fair. The drinks are great (I’m especially excited they added the Pail Shop sangria!), and I love that they offer Polar seltzers for a non-alcoholic option. Ty’s is a great choice for grabbing food while you play, too!
This place has been such a great addition to Oneonta—I’m so glad to see...
Read moreSuper disappointed with the past few experiences coming here. Few times in the past we’ve come just to enjoy the environment which is about the only thing this place has to offer. They said breakfast was served until 2, tacos start at 3 and that hour in between was supposed to be a kitchen turn around time for the two businesses. We show up at 1130 for breakfast, just for them to tell us they stop using the oven at 11. You’re telling me you need 4 hours in between to turn the kitchen around? Why even advertise this breakfast menu if you aren’t going to serve what’s on it. This place has become a joke. And don’t even bother thinking it’s Wakemann coffee company, they don’t operate...
