Hogan's Diner — Restaurant in Town of Orangetown

Starting off on a positive note, my family have been coming here for years and always loved it however it has become less enjoyable lately. This morning we ordered food,..... the mozzarella stick were still frozen and had to be sent back, the cook placed the already bitten into food back in the fryer with the non touched mozzarella sticks and then the waitress returned to the table with the untouched and the already bitten mozzarella sticks on the same plate. First that is unsanitary to put food that was already in our mouths back into a public fryer and second to reserve us the same already chewed pieces of food. The panini that was ordered had no extra cheese as ordered and it was not pressed and served with fries when only coleslaw was ordered, they took the food back a second time to fix it. My significant other ordered a specialty burger and was brought a cheddar cheese burger with none of the toppings. When asked where the sauce and the topping were for the burger she states "they are coming, I ordered them separate" We were sitting next to the kitchen so we were able to hear the staff in the kitchen speaking and they were upset with the amount of food that was being brought back to be fixed. We are not picky on the food we order however when ordered a certain meal we should as be getting what we ordered on the menu. With all of the issues that happened through out our meal time no manager visited our table to speak with us nor did the wait staff seem to even care that we did not get what we ordered and the food needed to be sent back to the kitchen to be modified to match what we ordered. This experience today was less than enjoyable. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this establishment as this is the Third time this has happened...

Food was okay, i got the chicken avocado wrap, and they only put maybe two slices of avo on it, which was disappointing. The coleslaw was flavourless and just a mayo goop. But the fries were delicious, crispy and hot. They were out if both the tea i wanted, and the chocolate pudding for dessert which was also disappointing. Besides the varying quality of food the decor was just not doing it for me, i was sat in a booth but i still felt very exposed to the entire restaurant and the hostess stand was right behind me. The diner was not very busy at all, and while i was eating i saw at least 5 staff members take lunch at the same time. 2024 I used to come here with my grandfather 25 years ago when the Hogan family owned it and it was excellent back then. Revisiting now was such a pleasure under the new owners as well. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, the coffee was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. Very good breakfast experience, looking forward to coming back for lunch or dinner! The place was also noticeably SPOTLESS, so kudos for keeping the establishment so clean!
