Tonight we took a ride to the Embassy Diner in Bethpage , we heard there is a new owner who knows his stuff and were curious to try the place and see how good it is , so here is our take on this place,IT IS AWESOME !!!! first of all the parking lot is huge and the spots are wide which makes a large truck fanatic like me a happy camper since I can fit my truck in any spot so easily with room to spare and no dings on the doors from other cars, the new owner Gus Tsiorvas Greeted us at the door with a huge smile and in no time we were seated in a spacious dining area , as soon as we sat the incredible fresh hot out of the oven bread and butter came out as well as lots of napkins , bottomless iced water service and huge tasty cookies and lollipops galore, our server attended to our every wish and was never more than a couple of seconds away and always with a smile .the place was well lit , well ventilated and very clean , and the food you ask ?? EXCELLENT !!!!!! 5 STARS ! see the pics I took. this is a gem of a diner owned and operated by a professional owner who knows his trade , I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT !!!!!!! make it your plan to pay them a visit soon, you too will love it !!! P;S the owner told me that the baker of this incredible bread has been with the diner for 48 years !!!!!!!!! and many of the staff have been there a long time as well. to me that speaks volumes . Monday July 18 2022 :SO NOW that we have familiarized ourselves with this gem of a diner under its new ownership we quickly made it THE TO GO PLACE very often , after music concerts around Long Island we go there for a late dinner or appetizers , we have many breakfasts there we have BIRTHDAYS celebrated there with much fanfare and the owner makes a big fun presentation for your birthday , I discovered their quesadillas that are so rich and overstuffed its like getting a thick pocket sandwich with awesome flavors, my wife's BLT's never disappoint and the desserts are out of this world, the new ownership has been in the restaurant and hospitality business for decades and they take their business very seriously and sweat out even the tiniest of details, from the first day they took over they started renovating and improving on the exterior and interior with new furniture , new large comfy tables and chairs , lots of patriotic decor inside and out and new and redone KING SIZE PARKING LOT WITH SUCH WIDE SPOTS THAT EVEN A PARANOID LARGE CAR OWNER SUCH AS MYSELF DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT DINGS AND SCRATCHES... MY LARGE TRUCK HAS PLENTY OF ELBOW ROOM EVERYWHERE. the owner told me that they are getting brand new carpeting now that some of the old cramped booths were replaced with beautiful roomy tables and comfy chairs, a brand new sign is coming in beautiful vintage style to commemorate the diner's heritage and you should see how beautiful they made the outside look too, inside they added 26 new flat screen TVs so you have plenty to watch while feasting on the diner's awesome food ,we fell in love with this place very quickly and it is now a part of our milestone celebrations, festivities and gatherings, the owner Gus is there from sunrise to sunset and beyond , so when you go there please say hello to him and let him know how you like his labor of love .as a very picky eater I know how hard it is at many places to find something you enjoy but that's not the case there.. there are so many things to choose from on the diversified menu that my choices are easy and plenty ( and the owner told me he is actually adding to and improving on the menu still , so get in you cars and go have a great meal at the EMBASSY DINER ! ...
Read moreThis diner has a myriad of food options on the menu. You can get omelettes, waffles, burgers, chicken sandwiches and various paninis to name just a few. The dining area is slightly smaller than some similar places. However, what the management does here is utilize the space they do have effectively. The staff are friendly and hospitable here. The attentive wait staff are right there to take your order. The presentation of the food is very good and it also tastes good. However, the bread in the basket put on the table was not as fresh as it could have been. Sweet tasting dinner rolls nonetheless. Otherwise, the portions were decent and served at the right temperature. The prices here are competitive and slightly less for entrees than similar diners in the area. The parking lot is a little tight and good spaces go fast especially during peak hours (after 5pm). This diner is maintained well and festively decorated to match various holidays. A good choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. *I just went back to the Embassy for dinner. The food served was good. However, there was an issue with the service. The busboy came over to the table and asked me if I wanted a refill on my drink (which was an iced tea). I was still eating at the time and nodded my head “yes”. The busboy (not the actual waiter) said “Ok Coke”. He left before I could correct him on the actual drink. When he returned with the soda, I explained to him I ordered an iced tea. He got belligerent and yelled at me. He yelled out “But you said you wanted a Coke, did you not shake your head?” I told him I was eating my food at the time and couldn’t speak. I said “I”m sorry about that but can I please have an iced tea instead. He then shook his head and made a “sheesh” comment before walking away. He later returned with an iced tea and gave me a “shooting daggers”look. This was extremely rude and uncalled for. Also, it’s embarrassing when you’re dining with a family member and they witness this kind of behavior. It’s not my fault the busboy walked away so quickly, assuming I wanted a soda, instead of a refill on the drink I originally ordered (which was an iced tea). Please be patient and a little more understanding with the customers, as we are paying good money for food...
Read moreWow! I used to go to the embassy diner as a kid. It was a good place for French fries and chocolate shakes at 2am. Now, everything is delicious! The French fries were nice and crispy on the outside and like mashed potatoes on the inside. The chocolate chip pancakes were "the best pancakes I have ever had, outside of the ones you make at home" according to my wife. A little crispy on the outside and pillowing soft on the inside. Pot roast, short ribs and even ox tails! All the meat was so tender, you didn't even need to look at a knife. The Texas burger had mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. It's served on a pita that is grilled so it is a little crunchy. The burger caught me off guard because it is pretty obvious that it's made with fresh meat and not pre-made frozen patties. It was delicious and cooked exactly how I asked, medium rare. The highlight was my wife's eggplant parmigiana. I knew it was good when she looked at my and couldn't speak. She just looked down for me to try some myself. It was fried to a golden brown so it was crispy on the outside and thick enough to get the buttery flavor of the eggplant on the inside. Sometimes it's too thin and all you get is fried breading. This was one of the best eggplant parmigiana we have ever had. Needed to try dessert too since everything was delicious. The Apple turnover was flakey and filled with apple and raisin filling. It also had a nice glaze. Great! The chocolate brownie was delicious!
The staff, from being greeted by the owners, to the waitstaff, bussers and cashier were so nice! The decorations were super fun and festive. Right now it's set for fall and Halloween. Looking forward to seeing Thanksgiving and Christmas/Hanukkah next!
We can't wait to go back and try something new. We will definitely be back soon!
As for the bad reviews, I hope you spoke to the management at the time of your meal and let them know that there was an issue. While our experience was perfect, if not I would let them know and have a chance to make it right before writing...
