Honestly, it was good but they need to step it up I’d honestly say 3.5 with reservations.

With a shiny “2024 best high end restaurant” plaque greeting you, half of the tables had children/babies with accompanying screaming and throwing things and iPads on Friday during prime dinner time at 7pm. It was not a good vibe. At all.

We moved to the heated but frankly lukewarm ‘patio’ to escape Chucky Cheese vibes but the experience definitely felt disconnected from there, even if the food was good.

Foster management—Don’t let your restaurant be a playground for rich people and their screaming children. Your food is good and priced accordingly but the delivery falls flat. You can’t charge $10 for bread and $1/pp for water (I dgaf how it’s filtered) plus a laughable 10 stalk $10 broccoli rabe side, and have screaming kids. Period. That bread was fine. It was not $10 + velociraptor-child-screaming-worthwhile.

Pork chop was really good and the butter lettuce salad with watermelon radish was a delight. Good wine list, good cocktails. There are many, many places for with family, friends and kids, but you can’t charge those prices and have it both ways. It’s simply not fair. Tell people to get a babysitter for kids under 5 to enjoy your overpriced bread and otherwise delightfully good food. So...

If you are looking for a dining experience of the highest quality in Nassau County, look no further because Foster is it. Chef Jason Potter and his partner and wife, Tanya, have brought Manhattan-calibre food to the oceanside town of Sea Cliff. The space is beutiful, elegant, and clean, the cocktails are delicious, and they are putting together a pretty fine wine list as well. And the food! Chef Jason lets his Blue Ribbon pedigree show while presenting food that is completely his own. He presents carefully sourced, local, seasonal ingredients simply and beautifully, with a deft hand which allows their quality to shine. From grilled octopus, to hand-cut papardelle with ramps and morels, to elk osso bucco, every dish is more delicious than the last. And you are missing out if you do not treat yourself to the wild-caught oysters motoyaki! Foster brings something truly special to the community of Sea Cliff. It is worth a visit from...

This is a true Destination Restaurant ! Every time we have eaten here we are kinda stunned as to the variety of dishes and how every dish is meticulously crafted - not to mention how delicious it all is....

It's not often that you find a restaurant where, from Appetizer to Main Course to Dessert is so consistently impressive. The drinks and Cocktails are equally well - crafted.

Our family has been lucky enough to have eaten in many of the finest Restaurants in NYC and around the world, and this true gem in Nassau County ranks up there with them.

The wood fire grill is used to perfection - the whiff of smoke one gets when they enter the restaurant makes your taste buds start tingling.

The service and staff is super professional and welcoming. The Chef and cooks are so accurate and consistently taking time to treat each dish like they actually care. Rare to see.

Our only regret ?

That we don't eat here more...

The food is amazing. The quality of all of the ingredients is clearly superb, and the chef, Jay, is truly gifted, and it shows with every dish. Tanya makes the front of the house incredibly comfortable. The service is attentive, and gives you time and space to enjoy. But back to the food - every single appetizer and entrée I've had has been great. You can reliably count on anything on the menu to be solid and delicious. The charred broccolini, brussel sprout salad, gambas al ajillo, scallops, fish, grilled calamari special, miso beans special, pizza, and fried chicken - everything is fantastic. Careful thought and care must go into every dish - even the sides and sauces are a level above most. Look at these photos to see. Oh, and my son asked me to share, that, "My son loves the chicken!"

FINALLY! A restaurant in Nassau that thoughtfully sources its products, embraces their community (check out their story on their website!), and incorporates sustainability into their practices. On top of all of that, it is REALLY delicious. Casual enough to go for a burger, wood-fired pizza, or fried chicken (all incredible), or a little fancier with house-made pastas that are not your typical red-sauce dishes. Great wine list (no misses - really love the Rioja), excellent beers (Bells!), and incredible cocktails that you'd usually have to go into the city for. Love a restaurant that 1) makes insanely delicious food that I can't make, 2) pays attention to detail and 3) cares about the customer. Have gone three times and highly recommend.

WOW! We visited during restaurant week and were impressed with the options. The wine pairing was outstanding. The chef did an impeccable job enhancing the flavors of each dish with perfectly matched wines. Our waiter, Nolan, was THE BEST!! He was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about all the dishes and wines. This restaurant deserves five stars. The combination of excellent food, outstanding wine pairing, and top-notch service, especially thanks to our waiter Nolan, made our visit unforgettable. We will definitely be back soon :)) Pictured: Apps: Sweet Potato Leek Soup Mussels Entrees: Fried Chicken Bavette Steak Dessert: Bananas Foster
