GTO (Great Take-Out) — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

Found this place by happy accident on Uber Eats.

Weird, I never knew of it.. it's super close to home.

Have quickly become addicted.

First order I got a steak wrap delivered with some "spicy chicken strips" for my son. My wrap was outstanding! HUGE, so I got 2 meals from it, and it was cooked so perfectly, that even when I reheated the other half, it was just as good for round 2! I didn't read the description properly for the spicy strips, so my son wouldn't touch them. I thought they were a breaded spicy tender type, but they are so much more magical 🫠 They are fresh, juicy, flame grilled delight chicken- sunk into a lovely smokey sauce.

I wouldn't say it is spicy personally, I add some powdered cayenne, but I have never had a better grilled chicken. Ever. Not in my 43 years.

I have since called in pick-up orders every few days. I was out of state on vacation for a week and literally had a dream about it.

I would say I can't wait to try more off the menu, as I'm sure it is all spectacular, but im having a hard time passing up those "spicy strips".

Updated 12-13-2023 I really hate to do this but when professionalism is out the window I have to put it in my review. I went to GTO tonight and was told at 8:20 p.m. they are no longer taking orders because they are breaking down equipment to clean up and finishing their current orders. The establishment is supposed to be open till 9:00 p.m. and I did mention to the woman in charge that I had been calling since 8:11 and no one was answering. She started to get angry with me and accused me of yelling at her. At no time did I ever raise my voice nor would I to any employee because it's disrespectful. When an establishment posts that it's closing time is 9:00 p.m., I expect to be able to walk in at 8:20 and be able to place a to go order. I was told that I can only have gyro or premade salad because they need to clean. I've been coming to this place over 10 years since I lived in massapequa. Really really disappointed.

Full Disclosure: I know the owner. That doesn't meant that what I'm saying in this review has been exaggerated or is untrue in any way. I've eaten here a bunch of times and have always had a great experience. I've gotten everything from burgers to salads to shrimp. I have food allergies, so to be able to eat a range of what I want is a feat. When I call to ask about allergens, the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I was with a friend not too long ago, and she loved the fries so much, she ordered another order right after! There's food for my daughter - mozzarella sticks, cheeseburgers, and they'll even give her some carrot sticks instead of French fries if we ask. I don't get the negative reviews much at all. I guess everyone has a different experience, but my several times dining (takeout and dining in) have been consistently tasty!...
