This is a nice bar restaurant located on Hicksville Road towards Bethpage. There is a small lot in front for all the stores along its strip with additional parking in the back. The bar set up is good with a variety of popular alcoholic beverages, however seating are bar stools and small bar tables. On the other side is the main dinning area. The staff are nice and cordial and the dinner menu simple and not overwhelming. Choice offering are from burgers to steak and pasta. The appetizers are not bad, featuring wings and the usual array found in most restaurants. Sampled their baked calms which were a bit disappointing. They were large and consisted of a fair amount of mixture and calms, but could've been hotter and given more of a char to the tops. I actually prefer smaller size bake clams. The barbecue ribs was good without to much sauce, paired with yellow rice and vegetables. Dinning companions had the chicken gambi which was sausage, chicken in pasta, shrimp scampi, chicken cordon Bleu. All of which was good. The best item was the bread. It was soft tasty and fresh, which makes for good pre munching while waiting for tge main course. Over all, you can't go wrong at this establishment. I would dine here again and would recommend them as a change of pace from the surrounding...
Read moreAre you looking for somewhere to go on a Friday or Saturday night. I'm talking about a place where you can eat drink and have fun. I'm talking about a place where the beer flows like wine, where the men & women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano! I'm talking about a little place called Sals Place! This local spot has been serving the community of N.Massapequa for many years. The menu offers alot of great options and one of them is the Steak Tidbit sandwich. Topped with melted mozzarella on a open faced garlic bread that was nice and soft and still had a good crunch to it and make no mistake about it the star of this sandwich is the Steak. For those who aren't familiar with Hanger steak back in the old days it was nicknamed butcher steak because it was loved so much by them they didn't want to sell it to their customers, they wanted to hang on to their steak! If you go to Sals Place I highly recommend the Tidbit sandwich its a great portion too. The only mistake I made was leaving half my sandwich unattended when I came back from the bathroom my wife ate the rest of it. I looked at her disgusted and said you really shouldn't eat my steak sandwich my mother ate my steak sandwich...
Read moreNice local spot, has been around for over 10yrs too, local neighborhood place. Sit and have a drink at the bar or bar tables... or take a table for your meal. We did both. The drinks were good, the apps were good: wings nice sweet heat and crispy, the dumplings & fried mozzarella both the typical flavor and didn't stand out but still enjoyable, as for the stuffed clams, kinda the usual all bread little clam( what were we thinking). Our meals were overall good too; the chicken cordon bleu came pre sliced not as hot as I would like though, a little dry lacking enough cheesy center, yet it was still tasty, and on the other hand the marinated skirt steak was enjoy by two others in our party, full of flavor cooked correctly and very tender. All sides of rice and broccoli were a nice complement to our entrees. (one less star for the maraschino cherries in our old fashion and the waitress with zero personality) note: the table was well serviced though; waters filled regularly, bread replenished,...
