It has been a while since I've been there but I decided to write this now because I really do think about it to this day. I'm not a person who writes bad reviews at all, but this has made me so uncomfortable to the point where it made me feel like other people should know what happened so they can potentially avoid being treated the same way I was. When I went in for a nice brunch with my husband, we were received by a waitress that, from the very start didn't seem to like me very much. Keep in mind I am blonde and Brazilian and I do have an accent. She had an attitude about anything I seemed to order and when we ordered wine she brought us a plastic cup instead of a glass. After my husband asked if they had a glass to drink the wine she gave us side eyes and proceeded to tell us they didn't have any. We ate our pizzas normally, and when we were finished with our meal she brought the bill without us asking for it, as we were going to order dessert and possibly a coffee. When we questioned her about dessert, she ripped the bill in front of us and looked at me and said "You're not better than me" with such an arrogance and attitude I was in complete awe. I did not understand where that aggression was coming from until she said to my husband " Why are you with her? You seem like a nice man, why are you with this woman? " and proceeded to be rude. I asked for her name and she told me she was the OWNER and I obviously told her she was NOT acting like a business owner should act ( professional ). She went to the kitchen and probably told the other workers there what had happened (in her own version) and one of the mans came to us and told me to "Go back to Russia!" After that I understood that the aggression was coming from a place of DISCRIMINATION and I really hope no one else from other countries have to go through such treatment. They're an ITALIAN pizzaria and still mistreated someone because of their nationality/accent/looks. This should never...
Read moreGood pie. I am a traditionalist, so I always go for the Margarita pizza. If you can make a good Margarita pizza, you're in good shape. Great sauce and a nice thin, crispy crust. My family and I sat outside. Two pies, one wine, and a few sodas - the total came to $48.00.
My only gripe is the size of the pies (versus price). The pies are small, we had to order two $16 pies for two adults and two kids. So $32. When we go to our local pizzeria, a standard pie costs about $19 and we would always have leftovers. So the price to value ratio is way off here.
These pies should cost no more than $11-12. I used to own a restaurant, so I know exactly what ingredients costs. Pizza is the cheapest food item anyone can make, regardless of the type of flour. This places uses Caputo flour, very good flour. They also use San Marzano tomatoes. But one never knows about San Marzano, which only come from one specific town in Italy. I am sure these are as authentic as can be expected. But the ingredients to make this pie should run about $1-1.50 per pie. Charging $16-18 per pie, the owner is making a huge profit, especially when you need to order two to...
Read moreI visited this place yesterday with my friends. I heard about this place through a Google article as one of the best pizza places on the Island. Let me tell you when I say that the statement could not be any more true.
When we arrived, we got a very warm welcome from the employees. We ordered 2 different styles of pies. It was one of the best pizzas we've ever had. The sauce was phenomenal! I seriously was licking the plate off cause the sauce alone was that good. The owner, Saverio, came up to us and greeted us while we were eating to ask us how it was. He was a very nice guy along with all the other employees.
When we were done eating, the owner gave us dessert on the house! I wish I could just have an unlimited amount of that dessert cause that dessert might have been even better than the pizza! We drove 40 minutes to this place and were not disappointed at all. This is one of the places you could go to eat on the Island. It deserves all the praise.
Best staff, best pizza, best dessert. If I could give this 10 stars out...
