First visit today. Have been anxious for them to open. I was a patron of Cafe Bella and was curious how The Rich Pour was going to carry on. The decor/atmosphere both inside and out is WOW and eye catching but challenging to explain. Almost like putting SpongeBob Square Pants, Andy Warhol, some gold flake and a Picasso in a blender and then covering your walls with it. By no means do I say this in a negative way. It pops, itâs eclectic, itâs fresh and I think it works. I like the local artist corner display. A lot of thought appears to have gone into the ambianceâ I commend. There was plenty of staff behind the counter but it felt a little chaotic. I get itâ new place, learning curve, Iâm sure it will improve. The Barista who helped me was very young, kind and patient. I asked who their roaster was but she said she didnât know anything about that. I ordered a double shot of espresso. It was scorching hot with no lid. As anticipated it had a burnt acidic taste. I think if they adjust their temperature it would taste great. The counter had the normal looking cookie and bagel offerings. Nothing that moved me to want to buy it. The menu had many quirky comboâs of food, inviting but a bit pricey. I think this place has potential, I will return and try again. I wish The Rich Pour good luck and welcome to the...
Read moreWow! This place is so visually appealing. I took my daughter here two days ago. She was excited to see all the vibrant colors, touches of gold leaf and unique decor in this establishment. Behind the counter looks so grand. This place is much more than a coffee shop. The music they play only adds to the lively atmosphere. The pictures on the wall (and in the bathroom) are quirky and funny, they have The Rich Pour shirts and hoodies, and even an art section with paintings done by a local artist, very cool. They even sell their own coffee beans. I had to take a bag home. Their regular hot coffee on its own is even excellent. My daughter ordered a hot chocolate, I got a Coconut cloud latteâ, and we split a SâMores croffle. My latteâ was incredible, great flavor and refreshing. My daughterâs hot chocolate was really good. It most certainly was NOT a Swiss Miss packet like they would do at your average places. You can definitely tell that the owners did their research and trialed their drinks. The Sâmores croffle was decadent and really hit the spot. Staff was friendly and professional. They made my daughter feel so special. That definitely gets points in my book. The lines can be long and you may have to wait a minute, but itâs worth it. I will be...
Read moreIâve visited this place twice now. The first time was during a busy rush, and the vibe felt friendlier despite the crowd. Today I stopped in during a slow morning with three people working behind the bar. Unfortunately, no one greeted meâno âhi,â âgood morning,â or even a smile. I stood at the counter for a few minutes ready to order, but not a word was said until I initiated.
I still wished them a good day, tipped on top of an already overpriced latte, and left. To be fair, the coffee itself is good, there are plenty of options, and the décor is beautifully done. But part of the charm of a local coffee shop is the connection with the people who work there, and friendliness is a must.
Local places such as Fortunate Hand, The Perk, and Starbucks set the standardâthe staff are welcoming, warm, and happy to see their customers. They take the time to engage, and that makes all the difference. Here, the staff just seemed miserable, which really takes away from what could otherwise be a great...
