Clean, easy to find with a huge sports area--bike track, dek hockey, basketball, baseball, handball, a children's playground, bocce ball tournaments...and the summer nights are full of free entertainment! Throughout the summer this welcoming town park brings in some amazing bands, tribute bands and productions on weekends going back a decade+ (they've had ELO, Blue Oyster Cult, The Zombies, Gin Blossoms, Grand Funk Railroad, Bret Michaels, etc). I recently saw The New York Bee Gees there, and they played songs from every decade of their music. The band includes various present or former members from world renowned bands (such as Meatloaf, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, etc.) so it's always enjoyable. This time they had Mike Flyntz from RIOT (Music Hall of Fame) on guitar. Day or night, this park is a perfect choice to get away from it all, relaxing and just what you'd picture for a family outing. Thank you, Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino!

As a parent who frequently takes my kids to John J. Burns Park, I can confidently say that this is one of the best parks in the area. The park is always clean and well-maintained, and there are so many activities available for kids of all ages. Whether you're looking to join an organized sports program or just play a pickup game with friends, this park has it all. The abundance of courts available for basketball and handball is also a huge plus, and the fact that the lights are kept on until 11 PM in the summer months means we can keep playing even after the sun goes down. We've also enjoyed attending the free concerts hosted at the park during the summer, which are always a hit. Overall, John J. Burns Park is a fantastic community resource and a great place for families to spend time outdoors. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and active day out with their kids.

John Burns Park is directly off of Merrick Road in Massapequa NY. It’s a good size park, sufficiently lite at night and yet easy to get in and out of. It’s an excellent stage area for concerts with plenty of room for people to sit and hear comfortably most bring their own chairs Note: if one walks through the parking lot to get to the main road, it is fenced off . Tonight’s Saturday performance was entitled “The beat goes on” a Cher Tribute by Lisa McClowry” along with a band that she has worked with for 20 years and currently 4 years preforming through the Town of Oyster Bay Music under the stars presented by Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town Board. Lots of costume changes, interaction with audience, the later rather quiet tonight and an interesting bio of Cher”s multi talents and background. Some audience returnees other first time viewers and an enjoyable show...
