AMAZING!! It has been a long time since I have wanted to write a review for a restaurant, especially a fast food restaurant! I cannot recommend The Farmhouse in Patterson, NY, highly enough; only wish I could give more than 5 stars for this wonderful little gem on RTE 22. The owners have spent as much attention to providing a comfy and homey atmosphere to the attention they have spent in providing a varied and delicious menu. A friend and I stopped Friday night, having absolutely no idea what to expect; to be honest, it was the name (The Farmhouse) that caught our attention. We entered a bright and tastefully decorated restaurant (reminds you of a newly renovated barn) that offers brilliantly created hamburgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, pizza and even, vegan offerings. You step into what you have thought is a long-forgotten world where restaurant owners actually CARED about YOU! All we had to say was, "Hi, we have never been here before," and Nancy (owner) became our best friend, helping us decide what to order and telling us about the many various options to each order. Friday night we ordered the Grilled Buttermilk Chicken sandwich that came to our table, served on warm brioche buns, accompanied by french fries and a chocolate chip cookie for desert. Notice, I said, "Friday night?" That is because, my friend and I were so appreciative of The Farmhouses's food as well as the service we received, we returned the very next day with two others (my husband and another good friend). The picture is the Double-Decker Reuben that my husband ordered and was still exclaiming over hours later! This food tastes "homemade," directly from my grandmother's kitchen and served by the nicest people I have met in far too long. Nancy, I just want to say, Thank You, to you and your family, for providing a "step into the past," when business owners actually "cared" about their...
Read moreThe place is new so I will give them a try again in the near future, but I was disappointed with my meal. I ordered the Western Burger combo, which includes fries, a cookie, and a medium (but they call large) soda. I got the impression that nothing is made fresh, that everything like the burger patties are just premade and then thrown on the grill when ordered. I'm sure the fries are pre-cut too. The burger and fries did not taste like there was any seasoning, likely just had some salt, I suppose they were hoping the BBQ sauce would provide all the flavor. Everything was just "basic", and they did not ask how well done the burger should be cooked. Overall my thought is that everything is not great, but not terrible either.
The price is expensive for what you get, $17ish is what it cost for the burger combo, and honestly I rather would have saved a couple dollars and gotten a similar meal at a fast food joint for around half the price. They charge sit down restaurant prices for what is essentially fast food quality.
My fiancé somehow had an allergic reaction to her burger or fries, we are not sure what yet. She cannot eat gluten, and this restaurant does not offer any gluten free breads. We were able to get her a burger as a lettuce wrap. Her allergy normally isn't severe enough to worry about cross contamination, but she had a reaction from either the burger or fries, so we suspect there is something in the beef that caused the reaction.
Maybe burgers aren't their thing, the pizzas do look good so I'll try one of them next time. I didn't see any mention of where their ice cream comes from, and it doesn't appear that they make...
Read moreHave visited this restaurant twice and I really like the design of the building. The first time we had milk shakes that where made by a young man I thought to be the owner who was very pleasant. The milk shakes where like flavored milk, not thick at all and very expensive at $6. A piece. We gave it another try yesterday and decided to go into the building which is very nice, the tables are small and a bit tight to seat 4 people comfortably. I was stunned by the pricing of the menu. $12. For s burger that is served on paper, $4.50 more if you want a med ( no refill) drink and a nothing special cookie. We ordered a Ruben burger which is a Hamburger topped with pastrami. The staff was friendly at this stage and there seemed to be at least 6 people on staff at the time. The burger came quickly and I realized when I placed the order I was not asked about the temperature I wanted the burger to be cooked. The burger was a thin patty though tasty , with one slice of Swiss, and toppings where barely present, French fries where barely cooked. For the $17.00 I could have gone to Wendy’s and had 2 of the same quality burgers. They are also selling the same burgers in a case in the restaurant which I thought was interesting. It’s too bad this restaurant doesn’t offer something special to the area, I will continue to go go Kelly’s corner...
