I’ve driven past Tios on numerous occasions and have never thought to go in. It’s one of the lesser known, “hole-in-the-wall” type restaurants amongst Patterson’s and Pawling’s “busier” spots. However, a friend talked up Tios and their authenticity, making it try-worthy.

As a whole, I wouldn’t call Tios overly impressive. The outside of the restaurant is perfectly fine and I can appreciate the colorfully decorated interior. Without any music playing and without any noticeable restaurant staff on a Thursday evening, it felt like Tios was lacking any signs of life.

After sitting myself my friend had joined me and it took at least a few minutes for someone to come out and offer us menus. The gentleman who played multiple roles and served as the host and waiter was actually very friendly, but the service felt a tad dis-jointed. Menus were given, complimentary chips and salsa was brought out, but our drinks (which we ordered first), didn’t arrive until our main dishes came, which seemed odd since nothing necessarily had to be “‘made.”

I ordered a Coke and Enchiladas with a Mole Sauce. The portions were large and I appreciated the amount of sauce and toppings on my enchiladas along with the side of rice and beans.

Overall, I felt everything was good, especially the shredded chicken, but my enchiladas seemed soggy. There was a nice depth of flavor and while I enjoyed the mole, next time I would prefer to order something just a tad spicier. And if you’re like me and like to prep by looking at the menu beforehand, just be mindful that the menus posted online doesn’t reflect the restaurant’s recent price increase.

All in all, if you don’t mind something a little more low key and want to get a decent introduction to Mexican cuisine, Tios is a good place to start. If ambiance is more your vibe, I would personally pass, but given the food was well-made and decently priced, I’d...

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been to. Fresh, homemade and authentic.

Going to Tios felt just like going to my “aunt and uncles” place. Right when you walk in, you immediately feel at home. The feels, the vibes, bring you right in.

Its not a huge restaurant nor is it your typical food chain so don’t expect that. It’s a family owned business with close friends that work here. They truly take care of you and are extremely sweet and attentive. Expect to be greeted with a smile and chips with salsa. Can’t say no to that!

Going for the first time I was just expecting the typical “Mexican” food that I’m used to: melted cheddar cheese, lots of sour cream, the usual. I was completely wrong. Upon ordering different things on the menu I particularly fell in love with the Huarache. Not only was it vegetarian friendly it was amazing. Made with a fresh handmade tortilla, fresh ingredients, crispy vegetables, crumbled white cheese and delicious aaahhhh-vocado. This dish was outstanding. Some of the dishes are big enough to share. I would recommend splitting a guacamole with chips and sharing a plate. You will be satisfied with all the flavors that explode in your mouth and the refreshing fresh ingredients will leave you wanting more.

Bottom line, go for the margaritas, don’t skip guac, come hungry but make sure to split your food. You will love it. Just be patient, don’t come rushed and be nice to them. They’re...

In the past I rated Tio's a 5 star. Yesterday, I took an order to go. I do this frequently; 2-3 times per month or more, if I do not eat there. Yesterday I ordered their shrimp coctel (cocktail). I saw the container...it appeared smaller than usual. I mentioned this to them. The guy showed me the 3 sizes of containers. I KNOW my eyes are NOT deceiving me. These 2 hombres had the audacity to insult me by lying to my face...!!! I almost told them to keep the coctel...but I love the stuff. They did neglect to top off with avocado as they serve it in the restaurant. I went home & compared the container to the one they have used in the past. Their NEW size IS 1/2 cup smaller than the one they used to use. YEP, I'm NOT a pendeja...so don't treat me as such. SMH They lied to me. PATHETIC. I took pics of all the containers. I gave 1 star due to their lying. DON"T do that to me. Do you have new people running the place??? See pic below; the middle container is their NEW one...the one on the right is the previous container; there is a difference of 1/2...

Decided to support our local Mexican restaurant on Cinco de Mayo and what a mistake!! Arrived, was seated and took a little bit before someone came over. Ordered two margaritas without salt and guacamole to start. The frozen ( not so frozen ) margarita came with salt, wife not too happy, guacamole was great, not enough corn chips. We put our order in and waited, and waited, and waited for a total of about 1 1/2 hours. Waitress was missing in action. Finally the wife couldn't take it anymore and got a hold of the Waitress to see what was the huge delay. They claimed the order was mixed up and that it was coming up. The wife requested check for guacamole and drinks and we left. Sooooo disappointed!!!!

Route 22's hidden gem! I know the feeling. Been on Route 22 lately, heading home after weekend upstate, and thy belly suddenly goes feed me, but your brain takes over and says nope nothing is around that's any good, I'll just wait til I get home and eat real food cause let's face it.....comparatively speaking, there isn't too much on Route 22. Well behold Tios! Great service, family run, tasty with healthy options, and fast for those that unfortunately have to eat and run. My favorite is their house salad with salmon and omg their carrot cake! Also they are generous with the portions, and kindly made adjustments for me (I'm salt sensitive), let them know if you are too.
