Coffee roasters. Bakery. Cakes. Bagels. Sunflowers. And pure AMAZINGNESS.
Thanks what Sunflower Bakery is. They’re your local mom and shop stop where they know you by name (especially my hubby Justin).
This little gem is in the heart of Pawling and it’s such a quaint little captivating spot that it will quickly steal your heart. The theme? You guessed it. My favorite flower! It lives by it and it also shines like it.
During covid they’ve created an amazing outdoor space that is just so adorable and perfect to safely drink your cup of coffee. Ok. Also. Mind you, they roast their own beans and create their own blends. Most importantly, dark roast is always available!
All sorts of bagel flavors are available my favorite being the everything and jalapeño. Different bakery items are available, our personal favorite being the chocolate chip muffin which is HUGE.
They make custom cakes and cupcakes but they will almost always have vanilla cupcakes available if you have any last minute needs.
This bakery is everything and most importantly family operated where their customers also become family. Give them some love and try our favorite combo: everything bagel toasted with cream cheese sliced in half with a chocolate chip muffin and a black dark roast hot...
Read moreWhile some of the items at Sunflour Bakery are undoubtedly delicious, I really can’t understand the hype.
I’ve ordered different coffees each time and none of them were drinkable. The artificial flavorings and add-ons leave the specialized coffees tasting synthetic, with very little hints of caffeine or espresso. In my opinion, there’s a big difference between ordering a coffee with caramel and a hot beverage that tastes like straight caramel syrup.
With all of that being said, I think the best thing going for Sunflour is their service. The atmosphere is a little cramped with an almost unsettlingly strong, brewed coffee smell, but the employees really try to give you a great experience. They’re friendly, helpful with recommendations, and have a cheerful and upbeat attitude overall.
Perhaps I’ll stop in for breakfast or an indulgent treat again—their Cheddar Scones and Lemon Bars are to die for—and maybe try their teas instead. But in all honesty, while I love the idea of supporting a small-town business, this place just might...
Read moreThe food is good, priced a little high but not egregiously. The reason for the two star is the awful service. I’ve been here about 10 times and every time something either comes out wrong, takes forever, or the server has no idea how to work the kiosk, but often all three. On most recent visit, one of the employees behind the counter was constantly sniffling and wiping his nose with his bare hands while preparing drinks and taking orders. Multiple times we’ve had servers completely forget to bring out half of the sit down order. One time, I received my bacon egg and cheese sandwich in 5 minutes and the person I was with didn’t get her bagel with butter for over 20 minutes despite checking in. On top of all of this the tables are never clean and often not even cleared of previous customers plates. I’d like to return because the food is good but every time gives me another...
