AMAZING AND EXQUISITE. THIS PLACE IS SOMETHING ELSE. AN ICONIC FIXTURE IN THE TOWN OF PAWLING NEW YORK. SET RIGHT INFRONT OF TRAIN TRACKS AND AN ELEGANT CLOCK TOWER. A QUAINT SMALL TOWN FEEL WITH SHOPS AND EATERIES SURROUNDED BY PARK BENCHES AND VETERANS TRIBUTES THIS TOWN SCREAMS PATRIOTISM. THE RESTAURANT IS DECORATED IN OLD CLASSIC CHSRM WITH WORKED AND DISTRESSED MOST LIKELY ORIGNAL HARD WOOD FLOORS. THE HOSTESS STAND WORKS DILLIGENTLY TO AN AGED BRICK BACKDROP. A BAR WITH AN AGED GRANITE VEINED COUNTER TOP. I BET THAT BAR HAS SEEN SOME THINGS. DECORATED WITH VINTAGE LITTLE SAYINGS ACROSS THE WALLS THE REST OF THE EATERY HAS AGED WOOD CHAIRS AND PEW LIKE BOOTHS THAT REMIND ME OF MY DAYS AS A FREQUENT CHURCH GOER. AS FOR THE FOOD THATS SOMETHING ELSE. TODAY WE SAT AT THE BAR AS TO CUT OUR WAIT TIME DOWN SINCE RESERVATIONS ARE FOR 5 OR MORE. WE SAT IMMEDIATELY. THE FEAST STARTED WITH A NICE STRONG TASTY CUP OF TRADITIONAL COFFEE IN A "MCKINEY & DOYLE" MUG. YUM! FULL DISCLOSURE I HAVE NO CLUE WHO MCKINEY OR DOYLE IS. LOOKING AT THE MENU THERE ARE SO MANY UNIQUE DISHES. THE CHEF DEFINATELY LOVES CREATING DECADENT SINFUL MASTERPIECES AS MUCH AS I LOVE EATING. TO THE BAR TENDERS SUPRISE I ORDERED 3 MAIN DISHES. FIRST UP I ORDERED THE CHICKEN AND WAFFLES BUT NOT JUST ANY CHICKEN WAFFLES. THIS SINFUL CREATION MADE ME FEEL LIKE BILL PULLMAN IN THE SINNER. DEEP FRIED CHICKEN WITH A HOUSE MADE BELGIAN WAFFLE COVERED IN BERRIES AND YOUR CHOICE OF BANNA FOSTER SAUCE OR RASPBERRY MARSCAPONE CREAM. AT THE ADVICE OF THE BAR TENDER WILL CALL STEVE SINCE I DID NOT GET THE MASKED MANS NAME WHO FOLLOWED EVER REQUEST WITH "NO PROBLEM MAN" THIS DISH WAS HEAVEN ON MY PALLET WITH SO MANY BOLD FLAVORS TOPPED OFF BY THE THICK CREAMY BELGIAN WAFFLE.I AM SURE THE WAFFLE MAY HAVE FELT OUT OF PLACE WITH ALL THE PASSION IN THE FLAVOR OF THE DISH. MMMMM SUCCESS AMAZING MY PATTET REJOYCED AND THANKED THE 8 POUND 6 OUNCE BABY JESUES FOR CREATING FOOD. MMMM NEXT I HAD THE TRADITIONAL STEAK AND EGGS. AN INSTITUTIONAL CLASSIC IN THE AMERICAN HOUSEHOLD. AS IMPORTANT AS BEER, GUNS, BACON. AND THE BIBLE. A NICE 12 OUNCE MEDIUM THICK CUT TENDER TASTY JUICY SUCCULENT AND FULL FIGURED PIECE OF MEZT. POSSIBLY DRY AGED WITH THE FLAVOR I TASTED. I ACTUALLY SAVED SOME DUE TO ANTICIPATION OF MY 3RD DISH. MY EGGS WERE SIMPLE PERFECT AN TASTY. THE SIDE DISH OF POTATOES, MULTICOLORED PEPPERS ONIONS, AND SPICES REIGNED IN THE QUALITY OF THE RESTAURANT. YUMMM THEN I HAD THE 3RD DISH TO THE STUNNED PUBLIC AND BARTENDERS SHOCK ALL HAD THOUGHT WE ORDERED FOR A THIRD.... NOPE JUST SVELT, SLENDER, LITTLE OLD PETITE ME. NEXT WAS AN APPLE CINNAMON FLAVORED GRILLED CHEESE. EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHH SINNING AMAZING TASTY UNIQUE AND INTRIGUING. ART CREATED ON CINIMON RAISIN FRESH BACKED BREAD FROM THEIR KITCHEN. FYI THERE IS AN AMAZING BACKSHOP NEXT DOOR THE RESTAURANT OWNS ALSO. THIS DISH WAS TASTY, STRUDDLEEEE AWESOME AND UNIQUE. AND I CAME WITH POLLENTA FRIES. HONESTLY WHO MAKES POLLENTA FRIES.MMMM I THANK THAT BABY JESUS AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE BABY JESUS THAT IS FORMAL IN FRONT AND PLEASURE WITH THE MULLETT IN THE BACK. GOOD LORD AMAZING JUBILEE ON MY PALLET. NOW KEEP IN MIND THESE ARE 3 OF THE MANY AMAZING DISHES ON THE MENU. THOSE DISHES I LEFT BEHIND ILL BE BACK. MY WIFE ORDERED A BASIC OMLETTE, SIDE OF BACON AND IN TRUE MCK &D FASHION THE SIDE SALAD SHE REQUESTED WAS SEXY. NO ISSUES TASTY AMAZING PERFECT AS USUAL. I AM SORRY TO SAY AS I DID NOT HAVE ROOM FOR DESERT AND BAKED GOODS NOT BECAUSE I AM WATCHING MY GIRLISH FIGURE BUT BECAUSE I WAS STUFFED TO THE BRINK. STOMACH LOCKED DOWN LIKE A VAULT. AFTER PAYING THE CHECK WE ENJOYED A BRIEF WALK UP THE SIDEWALK WHERE MY DAY WAS COMPLETED BY SEEING THE DODGE RAM PICK UP WITH THE WINDOW GRAPHIC "CNN SUCKS" SPRAWLED ACROSS THE FRONT WINDOW.😁😁😁 I LEFT THIS ICON EATERY AND ENTERED MY AMERICAN SPORTS CAR ICON WITH A SMILE, FULL BELLY AND FULL HEART. GO ENJOY, FAST BEFORE

GODSPEED GOOD...

I’m always hesitant to try new places on special occasions, but was pleasantly surprised with our visit here on Mother’s Day. Overall, we had a really good experience and delicious food & drinks. I checked the brunch menu ahead of time and was a little disappointed that the shredded short rib Benedict was not on offer that day, but they had plenty of other delicious options. I had the huevos campesinos, which was good but I wish they included a little more pork with the portion. My husband and son split the wagyu beef burger (it doesn’t appear they have a children’s menu, and there were limited options that my son would eat). I took a bite of the burger and thought it was very good as well, well seasoned and cooked properly. My husband was still hungry after sharing the burger, so he ordered the short rib grilled cheese. I took a bite, and it was incredibly flavorful and very rich. I love spicy drinks, so I had the “spiced mango” cocktail, which I found wonderfully spicy. The jalapeño flavor somewhat overwhelmed the other flavors of the drink, but it was still a very enjoyable cocktail. I was torn between the Zombie & the Sophie Spritz for my 2nd and chose the spritz. It was herbaceous and fragrant and slightly bitter on the finish. I enjoyed it, but not as much as the first drink I had. My husband ordered the House of Togarashi, which was interestingly served in a tea cup. It contained liquor that I would not normally have considered for myself, but it was actually quite delicious, balanced, and a very nice combination. We were stuffed and decided to skip desserts since mostly cakes were on offer. I was so much disappointed that the bakery next-door didn’t have very many small pastry items since I was hoping to get my son a chocolate croissant they have for cakes, a few small pastries, and cookies when we went) but we took home a small chocolate loaf cake, which was very rich and chocolatey, and not overly sweet. Unfortunately there’s no option to order bakery items from the café. One slightly confusing thing was that a sign in the bakery advertised a vegan salted caramel latte and when I asked the employee on the bakery side what was in it, she told me it was coffee and I asked is there any dairy and she replied that she did not know. I was considering getting it but I’m lactose intolerant and I assume vegan meant it was made with nondairy milk but I didn’t pursue it. Overall, we had a really nice meal and a good time and service was attentive. It’s a bit far for us since we are on the opposite side of Dutchess County, but I would...

The staff there was excellent, very cordial, and stayed on top with our needs. The house salads were absolutely amazing! Great flavor with the dressings used. The only thing that troubled me was that I specifically told the waitress that I only had partial use of my left hand and asked if it would be possible for the kitchen staff to cut my beef which was my main course with which see told me would be no problem. It was served to me and not cut and I certainly was not going to ask those seated with me to help, being that would mean their having to get up and help. The waitress came back several times, yet never seemed to notice my struggle in cutting my beef. The second thing was they had on the menu "Small Plate," which we had assumed meant a smaller portion of food. So, my sister and me had ordered from that. Had it not been for the waitress in passing to mention that it was an appetizer, we would have thought it to be just that.....a smaller plate. It would be far better to have under the heading, "Appetizers, " instead of just "Small Plate." My wife and sister's meals (according to both) said they really enjoyed it. I ordered Black Angus with a onion fried up with a really great sauce. The meat was like chewing rubber and it was extremely difficult to cut with a steak knife, as well as no seasoned flavor in the meat. Our brother in law had short ribs and was not that impressed with it. Third, he asked for a beer, which was in a can. You would think that we would be told it only came in cans before ordered , not tap or draft. The desserts were excellent. Again, the staff was so nice and even went out of their way to put candles on our dessert, being it was my sister's and my Birthday (yes, we're twins) and singing to us. Very thoughtful. We may try it once again, but certainly would not rush to do so. Very cozy atmosphere and the decor was really interesting. I would recommend this place but with...
