Capones Italian eatery — Restaurant in Town of Penfield

The food is awesome. It's basically for take out but there are a few tables...but the place is not big and very busy! The pizza is excellent and there are a lot of options to please anyone. We tried the subs for the first time and were blown away! I had a tip on 2 specials...the steak chimmichuri and the Mama Capones and we tried both. The large sub was huge and very generously filled. The sub roll itself is very good to start. The chimmichuri steak sub was maybe the best sub I ever had!! The steak was tender and perfectly cooked and generous...every other element added to the perfection...creamy provolone, roasted red peppers, rosemary garlic mayo, perfectly crunchy onion strings( i would eat them as a side anytime), plenty of fresh arugala and a drizzle of yummy Calabrian chili honey( just a kiss of hot). It rated a chair dance with every bite! The Mama Capones had procuitto and mortadella with scracciatella cheese and pesto, arugala and topping with pistachios( yummy crunch) and chili honey. The chicken parm sub delicious too. We will definitely be back again and again. Please keep the chimmichuri steak on the menu forever it is killer!! I highly recommend trying Capones it is quality stuff and you can find pizza, pasta, hot or cold subs, calzones and salads...something for most anyone! They can be very busy so be prepared for that...but that only speaks to how good...

It took me awhile to figure this place out in my mind. I'm not sure why. We kind of eased ourselves into Capone's to the point where now it's probably the only takeout we love. I think my love affair started with the Chicken Philly. We stopped and ordered one on our way home from taking our dog to the vet. Usually I order ahead but this time we walked in, ordered and waited. It took awhile for them to make the sandwich so I watched the girl make it. I couldn't believe the effort that went into making one Chicken Philly. After watching it, I'll be the last person on the planet that ever complains about having to wait for my order at Capone's. Take your time! It's the best Chicken Philly we've ever had. Last night I called and ordered a pizza and wings that my wife picked up on her way home. It was the best pizza and totally best wings I've had around Rochester ever, and the only place that makes amazing blue cheese dipping sauce for your wings from scratch. Whoever owns this place is doing it right. The food is not an after thought. This is the only place I'll be ordering pizza, wings or sandwiches until I die or they close. I'll be trying other things in the future but for now, pizza, wings and sandwiches/subs are covered. We live a mile away. Please don't ever leave Penfield and keep up the good work!...

Exited to try this food out. As I walked in, I could quickly see a few employees upset. The individual that took my order was telling me how upset they were, that they were on the verge of quitting. That they were always being blamed for things they didn’t do. It took me about 15 mins to ask for my order. The order was never put into the system, so I had to listen to the staff go back and forth thus pushing out my order another 15 minutes. This was a hostile work environment, never good for the employees/customers. Food got dropped on the ground. Employees were touching food without latex gloves on. There was a younger employee and it seemed like the negative energy was being put on him. Asking him to do a bunch of things, then telling him with a harsh tone “don’t drop it”! I can tell that this establishment is on a downward spiral. Food tasted good but will never return unless Real leadership can teach their employees how to conduct business in a professional matter. To top things off, my order was not correct. 😔 I hope leadership can make large strides or I will never go back or recommend...
