My fiance and I visited for dinner and to see if it was a place to consider for our rehearsal dinner. We ate around 5pm, and the place was fairly empty at the time.
I really wasn't impressed. The decor was nice enough, matched the atmosphere and what you would expect for a restaurant on the more expensive side. I like to try new things, but the cost makes me very hesitant to want to explore. The menu seemed very mismatched in offerings at the time. I had scallops with caviar, and a creamed leek sort of side. Not sure how to describe. The leeks were decent, probably the better part of the entree, but not nearly enough caviar to influence the flavor and the scallops were cooked correctly but ultimately fairly plain. Not a dish I would order again, not for poor quality so much as a lack of any personality to it. My fiance wasn't thrilled with her meal, but wasn't overly impressed either. The flavor and uniqueness to the food was simply not enough to justify what we paid.
Service was good. Server was friendly and quick but not overbearing. Food was timed well, drinks kept full. We tipped well (25% or so).
All around certainly not a bad experience, and if you can afford it give it a shot. Ultimately, we won't be going back but don't regret having given it a shot.
My personal recommendation would be to narrow the scope of the menu and perfect what...
Read moreI have been to Branca many times and it used to be my favorite Italian restaurant. I grew up in Italy as well as in America and really enjoyed how Branca captured the culture I grew up with. However, I recently visited after driving 2 hours to come and had a terrible time. The staff was unorganized and the whole experience has become so pretentious that it was painful. My salad was so boring and simple that I can easily say that I have had better at an Olive Garden chain restaurant (Not to mention Id at least get a normal serving for a price point under double digits.) My pizza was overcooked on the bottom and raw on the top...with little ingredients. My pasta was inedible. Not to mention that both of us got so sick that we could not sleep or go to work the next day. To top it off, the entire staff kept reiterating that there would be an updated menu starting the next week...ALMOST LIKE THEY NEW THE CURRENT SITUATION WAS TERRIBLE. I have worked in customer service and the food and bev industry for over a decade. I am so dissapointed that i wasted over 100 dollars for a meal that not only made me sick but that was terrible. Even though it is not about the money, I rather have spent a quarter of it for two people at the pizza shop in walking distance of my house. I hope management takes a...
Read moreVery disappointed...Food report: not up to par with menu last year...salmon i ordered excellent...risotto undercooked and not a fan . Worst sevice waitresss ever..,,at least 20 minutes after being seated in bar area went to bartender to let them know we would at least like water, as no one had even been to our table. It was a busy Friday night, but it was not packed. No excuse for such poor service other than disintrested waitress named Taylor who basically ignored us...it seriously jaded our dining experience at Branca. Taylor seemed more focused on chatting with a couple seated in booth adjacent to our high top table than providing service. We had to go back to bar to get drinks replenished....bar staff at least responsive and served drinks within 5 minutes. Again, no Taylor to offer bread before or with salads... or during meal. Taylor MIA throughout the meal ... no check in once main dishes served up to ensure we were happy with the meals....she showed up about 3/4 through the main course to ask if everything ok... so annoyed by this point with her service, i didn’t really enjoy the meal! So frustrated and annoyed with table service notified manager. Hope this is not the new norm fir service at...
