Chef King is my new favorite Chinese food restaurant. I used to frequent Chen Garden, but their food and prices changed and it led me to seek out other Chinese food restaurants.
Chef King is basically a takeout only restaurant. They may have one or two tables, but I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen anyone eat at the actual restaurant. During nicer weather, there are a few picnic tables outside, in front of Pontillos that you could use. But enough about that.
The food. Delicious, hot, and keeps you coming back! I haven’t had a bad dish from them. Their boneless spare ribs, wings, lo mein, moo shu pork, pork egg rolls, sesame chicken, orange chicken, general tsao’s chicken, pork fried dumplings, fried wontons and wonton soup are just a few of their great dishes.
Pricing is fair. I never regret buying food from Chef King from a financial standpoint. Their lunch combos are cheaper than dinner dishes, but come with less food. Lunch combos are always enough to leave you full and dinner dishes will leave you with leftovers.
Bottom line. If you’ve never eaten here, give them a try. You’re going to love it and I can guarantee it won’t be your last trip...
Read moreOn business in Upstate New York and Doordashed this restaurant yesterday for lunch. Since it was my first time trying this place, I waited to do my review in order to see if the food would tear up my stomach or not. And I am happy to report that it did not. However, this is not a place I would recommend eating at either. I ordered the sesame chicken and vegetable lo mein. Pretty sure the sesame chicken was the absolute worst I have ever had. The sauce was the strangest shade of reddish orange and tasted even worse than it looked. Luckily, I was given more white rice than chicken. The vegetable lo mein was okay, but certainly nothing to jump up and down about. There was no silverware or napkins in the bag. I could not believe I paid as much as I did for this crap. I have had way better meals at Panda Express locations. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and pick someplace else to eat at, just anywhere...
Read more*Revised review Went back after my last string of experiences, and to my surprise, and pleasure, they are doing much better. Quality of food is much better, service is a bit friendlier, and prices remain very affordable for being in Bushnell's Basin. Would recommend to anyone nearby to give them a shot, as of late, they are very deserving of business. And it shows, they are typically quite busy during lunch time.
This place is consistent with a few things.
They will get your order wrong
They will change something on your order without telling you, and expect you to pay for it.
They will be short, cold, or rude when you interact with them.
This place has to be in the top 5 worst Chinese food places in the entire city. The lack of care runs deep, and I'm afraid to imagine what other corners they cut.
Please please please go somewhere else. Save your money and...
