Last night, we were treated with such incredible disrespect.
We arrived first, followed by our group of friends, and one girl had turned 21 recently, so she still had a vertical license. The bouncers/man at the bar both informed us that they can only let her in if they get the police to come validate the ID. So, we respected the rule and actually did have the police come.
The police came and said the ID was fine, and that the decision was ultimately up to the bar. At which point, the man at the bar simply said âNahâ. And sent all our friends away.
Our group was completely sober upon arrival, and we were respectful the entire time. The issue is NOT with the rule about âno vertical IDsâ. The issue is that the staff here felt this is an acceptable way to treat other human beings. Last night was extremely cold, and they kept this group on the sidewalk for 30 minutes waiting for a police officer. And then to also waste police resources if they never had ANY intention of ultimately letting them in anyway? I am dumbstruck about the entire series of events.
I was inside the bar the whole time bc we were told our friends could get in once the ID was validated. The bar tender even held off on making my drink while I checked this with the bouncers. But then he proceeded to let us order drinks, knowing that at the end of all this, he wouldnât let our friends in anyway. When I expressed how this was disrespectful and shady, he told me âI never said theyâd get in after having the police come. I said they MIGHT get inâ. Are you kidding me? They wouldnât have called the police if that is what was told to us. And he knew full-well that we wouldnât have ordered the drinks that we did if we knew they wouldnât get in. All he had to say to me was âyou can speak to the manager on Monday thenâ.
I do hope the manager knows who he has hired and speaks to them about how to be decent...
Read moreCool place, bartender let me taste the sours variety before ordering one so i could make an educatedchoice. Let me charge phone behind bar, and used wifi to work on laptop. Ate FREE popcorn, had a shot of Tullamore Dew with some of the locals in honor of late St. Pats, played a song on jukebox that was my band and not with flow of background music, no one complained. Talked to some of the local crowd in there and all were friendly as well, especially to my rambling @**. Thanks for welcoming a vagabond needing face time, and to just get out for a night and see people, into your whimsically decorated, fun, watering hole.
I bet this place bops for karaoke on weekends, little raised stage area and open floor plan with room for potential dancing.
Bathrooms clean, extra credit.
Designated smoking area attached so can bring drinks out. Not heated though.
Tolerant staff and locals- especially to my off beat chatty personality and crazy life story. Watched out for my drink, safe place for women!
Darts and pool. Jukebox if you wanna hear something. No deck of playing cards behind the bar though, bring your own if you will want or need one for...
Read moreI have been to this bar many times visiting friends while in Fairport and always liked it. But, we went on New Years Eve and could tell something was off when we tried to order food. We chalked it up to the kitchen staff being overwhelmed on a holiday, but still ordered. Next thing I know, the girl next to me was kicked out and so was I â apparently because I was just standing next to her? I tried to ask what was going on/explain I was waiting for $60 worth of food I had just ordered. The male waiter yelled at me to leave and I again tried to ask what was going on. He gave me an unintelligible answer. Then the female kitchen staff came out and literally pushed me out of the building with her hands on me while I asked her to not touch me. Meanwhile my husband and best friend were upstairs at the pool table. I had NO IDEA what was going on. It was an unreal, unprofessional, and violating, experience â to the point that I feel I was purposefully just scammed for money. Iâm reporting to the bar & police. I will...
