We had never been to the Fairport Village Inn before. Friends suggested we take fish fries to go because it's too cramped inside. Definitely is!! We order 4 fish fries - 2 Breaded, 2 beer battered, 3 with coleslaw one with a salad. We received all but the salad. The salad was an additional $4.50!!!!! The bill was $78.00 for overly done fish fries, a container that was probably 2 Tbs of coleslaw. Also, 2 were missing the tartar sauce, not good for someone who usually ask for an extra. The person that wanted a salad cannot eat cabbage for health reasons so they had nothing. There were no containers of sour cream or butter packets for the potatoes, no rolls, just a dried up overdone fish and plain baked potato slapped in to go containers. Surely a picture of what they think of customers ... very little. Definetly not a meal you eat with your eyes first which they should know is important to do. We called to tell the girl who took the order what was missing. Like the meal, could care less. Well, they got their $78.00, hope it was worth it to them. We are retired and go out a lot. We definitely won't be back nor recommend as a place to go with friends. In these times when food as well as everything else is expensive the least you could do is show you care about their business and that they picked your place to order from. This definitely says don't order from us...
Read moreI have been taking my family here on Friday nights for the past year. Never had a bad experience until this evening. Pains me to say this because my kiddos like the place and the waitresses are great and trying to make a good living! Dinner reservation was for 5:30. At 6:40 the manager came up to our table and said, "I would kill for this table!" I get it. Friday night, a wait, etc. But guess what, we paid more for two pieces of fish and a couple of hot dogs for the kids and some scoops of ice cream than we should have. We tipped over 30%. And then he comes up to us and says that. Pushing us out. Making us feel less important than the person that was waiting for a table. He told us it was his mother that was waiting. Not sure if that was true or not.
We work hard, we have two kids and they are good kids overall. We rarely get to go out but when we do we like to go there on Friday nights. During our meal, we were essentially asked to hurry up and leave.
I never cared for reviews because everyone has their own experience, but it made my wife uncomfortable and it took my attention off of my time with my family. He made us feel unwelcome and insignificant. That sucks!
I guess it cost my family a soured evening out to learn that our patronage is worth more...
Read moreAfter jumping from place to place on Saturday evening to find a kitchen that was open past 10pm we ended up at the Fairport Village Inn. Just a small group of 4. We grabbed a few drinks, ordered food from the bar and sat in a both. Food was great, service was wonderful and attentive. I ordered the "bacon wrapped balls" and the "Porker Burger". (Topped with Pulled Pork, Ham, Bacon & and Onion Ring) With a steak knife in the top of it as they bring it out to the table to hold it all together.
I do not regret my choices, I will happily get these again. Just finished some left over Bacon Balls too, warmed up nicely in microwavable the take home container.
I will gladly go there again and tell friends who may not know of it already to check out this place. Prices were very fair as well even being in post/pandemic time.
By the end we were there for about 1.5 hours with some a few more great drinks and just chatted away while eating our food.
I was very impressed by their "limited" bar menu, was actually two pages so there were lots of things to...
