Discriminatory Practices of White Male Business Owner in Rochester (Response is in congruence with this):
The experience I had was two standard deviations from the norm, and I would highly discourage people from supporting this coffee shop or the owner. I was greeted with misogyny, dominance, and overall privileged behavior .
The cost of the coffee is quite high, a flat white at $5.25 which is about $1-2 higher than tier 1 cities flat white at artisan coffee shops. As I questioned the cost of the coffee to have healthy discourse and conversation, I was instead responded by a man with a fragile ego who clearly needed to show dominance instead of being questioned. He used illogical statements to include SF's homelessness issues which do not correlate with the cost differences between a tier 1 and tier 3 city.
Buyer beware, there are better options and better owners in the local coffee market.
Noted: The owner of the coffee shop changed their response, from acknowledging an issue and apologizing to the updated response that is extremely negative and targeted. The inability to take responsibility for their actions is clearly noted in their below response. His belligerent response is an example of his mindset and clear discriminatory and unstable behavior patterns.
Calling a customer, specifically an asian customer, a "terrible person" for questioning pricing structure and cost that did not match the local economic area, and then being a bully is not a quality of a strong and stable business serving the Rochester community. This is the second incident of Asian discrimination as noted by another review from Brian. The owner appears to take no responsibility for their actions, and has a difficult time seeing these reviews as an...
Read moreAs an avid fisherman for carp on the canal right outside this shop I understand the frustrations behind them being closed outside business hours, and I’ve seen tons of people try to open the door and it was locked. Anyways, my frail and tiny little girlfriend and I came here on a beautiful night and we got served right away, cheaper than most of the overpriced junk in the rest of Pittsford or other places I won’t name where we just came from (see other reviews) and the gelato was fire. The bowls and spoons were mad cute too. Great experience especially on a nice summer night. Might get hammered at lock 32 after this. They just gotta fix the hours/ door issue and they would have 5 stars. My...
Read morePerfect after dinner at Aladdin next door. Good selection of flavors. Mum missed the option to sample! But it's been a while. Weather was perfect to sit by the canal, no boats. Such a pretty sunset too. The serving options are convenient. I didn't try the gelato+coffee, but my daughter swears by it. Clean and convenient, as always. Payment system is great. While waiting you can browse some of the jewellery selection. Love the corn they carry to feed the birds and fish in the canal. Thank you Town of Pittsford for adding the fishing poles there. Schoen Place with all these stores and other facilities...
