Maybe we were there on an off night, but our experience was not the same as the many other reviews here. I'll start with the service, which started out good but went downhill. We had an early'ish reservation and were seated right away, which was a nice start. Our waiter took our orders pretty quickly and was helpful to start. By the time we were up to our main dish, our waiter was serving 5-6 tables. By the time we left, he was valiantly trying to serve 9 tables, and there were still 2 more assigned to him. It was not possible for him to keep up with the demand, multiple tables were waiting for him at any given time and he was clearly struggling with all of it. No blame to him. It's too many tables to be waiting on at once.
The ambiance was not too great. It's mid summer and there was loud purim music playing. We laughed at the absurdity of it. At one point someone shut it off mid song, only for it to come on again a few minutes later.
The appetizers we got to share were mostly really good. The meat gnocchi and the ribs were great. The honey chicken fingers were not very exciting. When the main dish was served, they brought out the first dish and told us it was skirt steak. We had them place it in front of the person who ordered skirt steak, but it was clearly not skirt steak. It was the reserve cut steak. We had ordered it medium done, and it was very rare. At just under $100, we expected better. Most of it was pink, with red parts, and soft/uncooked. The waiter was too busy to even try to tell him about it. The skirt steak came out about 20 minutes later, after we saw the server start bringing it to the table and then bring it back to the kitchen. They forgot to bring out one of the drinks, and we couldn't get our very busy waiters attention to get it for us until we were finishing up our main course. They brought the drink as a can of soda, and the bottom of it was so popped out, it wasn't possible to stand it up on the table. We decided to skip dessert because at that point the smallest request (ex could we get a dessert menu) took too long to even ask. We waited about 10 minutes just to get our receipt, after we paid, so we could leave.
Overall, at the prices we were paying, we expected food, service and ambiance at a...
Read moreI want to highly recommend Not only because of their delicious food, but the service was honestly incredible and the owner and wait staff showed us a huge amount of kindness to us. I went in with my three young kids after driving down from Legoland to Long Island. We chose Churassko because my autistic son is an incredibly picky eater and one of the only foods he'll eat is plain white rice. It happened to be they had this on the menu so that's where we went. When we walked in, we noticed what a beautiful restaurant it was and how it had an upscale and also serene atmosphere. Initially, I felt a bit nervous walking in with my three boisterous little ones (all of us in our flip flops/sneakers and t-shirts) but we were quickly made to feel welcome. After ordering, my son tried the rice and because he is the pickiest eater alive (the rice was delicious) he refused to eat it. We had just ordered a whole bunch of other food and my husband and I (and other kids) were all hungry so we tried to eat quickly because we knew my son would likely start melting down. One of his few other 'safe' foods is a plain dry omelette, and although this wasn't on the menu, we saw that one of the burgers had a fried egg option. I called over the waitress to find out if there was any way they could accommodate and make something special for my son. She was super kind and spoke to her manager - within a few minutes, my son had a piping hot omelette made exactly to his needs. This saved our meal. To add to all of this, the owner came over and kindly checked on us after to make sure the egg was ok and to see if he could help us in any way besides this. They also threw in a delicious dessert at the end as a totally unnecessary extension of their kindness (I'm guessing they saw two very frazzled parents with three overtired kids)! In any case, we were definitely not the ideal guests that night, and it could have all been embarrassing and difficult but the owner and staff made us feel warmly welcomed and it was exactly...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place but i was disappointed. Overall the food was mediocre and the portions were very small for the price.
We had the beef gnocchi which was just ok the gnocchi themselves didn't really taste like typical gnocchi but they were decent and probably would be good with different accompaniments. The meat itself was dry and flavorless and the sauce just seems to be the grease from cooking the meat.
The pulled beef flatbread was ok. the meat was better than the gnocchi however the flatbread itself was awful and was just like a dry cracker and had no flavor.
The ground beef empanadas were the best thing of the night. the filling was flavorful and the empanada dough itself was cooked perfectly and flavorful. the sauce with it was ok but they didn't need the sauce. my biggest complaint was that they were tiny. that would be fine if they weren't 24 dollars for 3 tiny empanadas.
My wife had the Milanese de carne. this was 2 tiny pieces of flattened meat and mostly breading. this was ok as well but for the 44 dollar price tag way overpriced.
I had the hanger steak. I almost laughed when I saw the portion size. this was a tiny steak for 72 dollars. I would hope based on that it would be good. but again it was dry and flavorless.
we both had mashed potatoes as a side. again portions were tiny. the potatoes were grainy and not very good.
The service was fine. the place looks very nice though a bit dark for my tastes. They did bring a light to the table which was...
