Chinese Gourmet Kitchen — Restaurant in Town of Rosendale

Saturday evening is not the time to order here! First the phone line is constantly busy. My calls when they got through were constantly dropped. I actually had to go to the shop to order. The shop was crowded and it took me @ 15 minutes to place my order. The usual lady that takes orders was actually coordinating orders for the chefs, packing orders and prepping appetizers. The young girl working the counter was out of her depth, confused and struggling mightily to keep up with orders and taking payment from customers. I ordered beef Chow Fun. It usually consists of wide rice noodles, scallions, bean sprouts and beef. Their dish had green peppers, wide rice noodles, onion and beef. No scallions or bean sprouts. Despite different ingredients it was tasty and filling. I also ordered the bone in barbeque ribs which were excellent! Also had two shrimp rolls that were also great. I would definitely recommend weeknights as a better time to frequent the Chinese...

Stopped in here when I was real hungry and driving back from the Baseball Hall of Fame... food was great... I'd be back if I didn't live on opposite sides of Dutchess County.. if I walked more then 100 ft I'd be in Putnam/Fairfield County..

But my curiosity got best of me.... this plaza looked familiar.. Then I saw Fanns on side of building . I remember my friend got his first couch from Fanns Furniture back in 1990. Funny thing couch never made it to his new apartment he moved into... he had it in back of his pickup.. and on way back to Croton. We got stuck in a tremendous thunderstorm.. cover blew off the couch.. and by the time we got to his apartment his couch was ruined... Fanns refused to take it back.... so we just thru the couch in the Dumpster at his apartment..

But I just wanted to say how great...

Great Chinese American dishes. Super unassuming hole-in-the-wall, but we decided to try given all the strong reviews on Google, and it was such a pleasant surprise! Definitely didn’t disappoint. All the dishes we’ve had are excellent and fresh, well-flavored without being too greasy or salty- moo goo gai pan and sesame chicken are tasty. Go with the large order of crab rangoons! Excellent service too - the woman at the front counter is very friendly, willing to adjust our combos to be vegetarian, and always greets us with a smile! Our fave local joint for sure. Only a couple counter seats, so plan...
