I was so looking forward to eating there for a second time since the first time was very good! I was meeting 3 of my old friends and we wanted to pick up 4 meals between two scheduled events at 5:00 pm. The first time I was there I ordered a salad that had miso cabbage and apples with smoked salmon on top. When one of my friends placed our order (before our event at 3:45) she asked if the chef could "fire the order" so we could pick it up at 5. This is standard request for most restaurants, unless the kitchen would be very busy. The girl who took the order did not recognize the salad which was weird since they only have a handful on the menu and said they would not accomodate the food being ready for a later time. We were on a tight scedule so we decided that we would pick it up as soon as we could. The employee was aware that pickup would be around 5:00. The salad I received was disgusting!! Salmon at the bottom with only romaine, a few halves of cherry tomatoes and balsamic with possibly a splash of oil? I would not even call it a dressing since the ratio was off. Clearly there was no thought or care to make the salad dressing special at all. The quality of the balsamic very acidic/bitter, truly horrible. It looked brown, but tasted more like apple cider vinegar. I was on my way home and since I have been in the restaurant business for many years and I am a Certified Sustaiable Building Advisor and critique restaurants frequently to help them improve. I called because I was simply curious about the order, thinking it could have been a lousy server. The girl who answered the phone said there was no manager, but the owner was available. I asked him if the salad with cabbage was currently on the menu since it was such a dissappintment. He was immediatly hostile saying he also didn't know which salad which is on his menu. He was so nasty and finally said there is a kale with cabbage and miso on his menu. He was extreme rude and I am truly shocked. He made another snarky comment saying, "I was wondering when the food was going to be picked up". Giving him some clarity, I shared that we were at an event that we could not interrupt and we were clear that we would be there at 5, and we were there exactly at five. He then said he does not cater!!! That was laughable because it was a take-out order for 4 meals, not a catering order. I didn't even ask for my money back for the disgusting meal, and he was still wildly obnoxious. I will NEVER go back. It is very upsetting that he was so arrogant and rude. I was hoping he was just having a bad night, but read the other reviews and he is a truly nasty person who attacks customers who shared their honest experiences. He called reviewers Karens! The whole point is to review restaurants so that others can find great food and service. To be so nasty when I was simply curious as to what happened with the order is frankly unacceptable. I was not going to write a bad review, but after this conversation it is necessary. It is truly a shame. Please read the other negative comments and his responses are way off base. My professional advice to him would be to hire a manager and let them help you with customer service and complaints. To make things right when they go wrong, no restaurant is 100% perfect, and most importantly, to keep your bad attitude in the kitchen where you can focus on serving good food. You have so much potential, but your horrible attitude is astonishing. I am expecting to be attacked for an honest review. What a shame... I wanted to have another good experience at your restaurant, it is a cute place with a good location.

Stumbled upon this charming diner via Google during our journey to Albany. Opted for a swift breakfast, lured in by glowing reviews. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted and ushered to our cozy spot in this compact establishment with a comfortable design. However, the culinary experience didn't quite match the inviting ambiance. Prices soared higher than a midtown Manhattan cup of joe. We sampled the pitted salmon, home fries, and pancake with a side of eggs and Turkey sausage. Disappointingly, the smoked salmon emitted an off-putting odor, far from the promised smokiness. The undercooked Turkey sausage and so-so pancakes didn't rescue the meal. Even the unseasoned home fries needed a generous dousing of hot sauce to elevate the flavor. A letdown for the inaugural meal of the day, and one can't help but wonder if the majority of patrons here share our disappointment with the pricing exceeding expectations.

10.80 for a small French onion soup is crazy especially with multiple bay leaf’s mixed in the onions.missed a opportunity to pick up a daily lunch customer. Lacked flavor of even the most basic French onion soups I’ve come across from diners. Upon posting this review the owner responded telling me wow great insight I should work for The NY Times. Obviously can’t comment on the absolute trash version of French onion or the 3 bay leafs a clear sign of lazy kitchen practice. He finds the need to comment in a smirky way to cover up his own failures, total Loser!

We really enjoyed our meal! I would definitely go back again

We went around 3pm or so on a Monday, and the place was packed. There were maybe two open tables inside and outside. Despite that, I felt the service was prompt. They seated us and gave us menus, and checked on us regularly.

Menu wise, they have a good selection of food in a similar vein to typical diner fare. They had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a small selection of appetizers. I didn't notice a distinct section of sides. If, for instance, I wanted to order just onion rings, I don't know if I would have been able to. That being said, their main courses were excellent! They had a large series of burgers, sandwiches, and main courses. I did feel that price wise, the sandwiches were often too close in price to the main courses, leading me to keep away from the sandwiches. Each of the food items had a creative sense to them. Nothing on the menu felt like the kind of food you would pick up just anywhere! I should mention the menu referenced a specials board, but as we went straight outside we didn't see it. I'm sure if we asked we would have been told what it was, but that made it feel a bit like an afterthought.

We had the pulled pork dinner and a crab cake BLT. The crab cake BLT came just as advertised with a large helping of fries. The pulled pork came "with" fries, though in reality it came on top of fries. It was also covered in a large amount of cabbage which was marinated in something citrus-y. I think that was the coleslaw they said it came with. It was an interesting twist on the usual pulled pork. It was bright, colorful, and enjoyable all the way through. It's not particularly saucy so the fries did not get soggy. I felt that the dish really shined. We did not get any alcohol, but the soft drink was just a can of soda which isn't really enough for one meal, not that anyone should be drinking more soda than that anyway! It did feel a bit lacking for the price. Altogether, the meal felt great and worth the 24 bucks I paid! I didn't feel that the menu was particularly kid friendly. Make of that what you will.

Atmosphere wise, the inside is well lit and decorated. The bar does dominate the space, but it's a lot nicer looking than the plaza would seem like. The outdoor area was spacious and sunny. Route 32 wasn't too noisy for the meal. They didn't have any outdoor heaters out. Maybe that's because of the time of day, or maybe they don't have any. I'm just not sure. The whole place was accessable to all manners of wheelchair from what I saw.

Overall, a great experience and worth the trip if you are looking for a different twist...

This is a really great diner tucked in a little place called Rosendale. We went here to celebrate mother's Day. The food here is freshly made. I had the corned beef hash and eggs and corned beef hash is not from a can it is the real deal. Their bacon was cooked perfectly and so was the sausage links that I had with it. They give you very large portions and everything was delicious. My brother had the pastrami Reuben he said it was absolutely delicious and will definitely come again and get that. My daughter had the cheeseburger and fries. The fries were hand cut fries, the burger was freshly made , not from a frozen patty. My boyfriend had the smoked salmon omelette. He cleaned his plate. He absolutely loved it and he also said there was cream cheese inside which made it really creamy. My mother had The corned beef Reuben. She said it was very delicious. Overall everybody loved their food the atmosphere was great and the service was great. No...
