The Martin Inn & Pub — Restaurant in Town of Sandy Creek

I want to start by saying, we ran into the owners and they asked us to give this place a try. Our first and last time!!!! The atmosphere, there was none. The place was empty. We were the only customers in the bar. It was bitter cold in the place. We had to wear our jackets to eat. Service, well let’s just say McDonalds has better service than this place. The bar tender was absolutely hateful. First thing she said when she came to our table was “we have no fish, no mac and cheese, and we are pretty much out of everything. Seriously!! No hello how are you today. What kind of establishment has little to no food they advertise on the menu (which was very limited to begin with). Now comes the drinks… you’re going to love this. My friend order amaretto and ginger ale, they had no amaretto, then she asked for Malibu and pineapple juice, they had no pineapple juice. I ordered a Malibu Bay-breeze, she wasn’t sure how to make it by the look on her face when i asked for it. The drink was awful! Hence the reason they had no pineapple juice left for my friends drink because she dumped it in mine. NOT impressive at all and you’re a bartender! My husband order amaretto simple cranberry vodka. Which she wrote down and had to come back and ask him again what he ordered to drink. How is that possible when you wrote it down. Food: what food! It sucked all around. The gravy for the hot roast beef sandwich looked like lumped garbage. It was cold and looked like it was scoped out of a plastic container from the fridge. We wanted to give this place a shot but it turned out to be a complete disaster. We won’t return. I am not sure how those other reviews are even possible. We just stopped in here for a quick bite en route to Saranac Lake for the winter carnival. Courtney answered the phone when I called our order in ahead of time and was SUPER friendly and accommodating. We order a dozen honey hot wings and a double cheeseburger. Both were delicious. Courtney was very friendly and conversational & she even gave my hunnie a few specific fingertip bandaids for a cut he had on his thumb. Super random but very appreciated. I think she talked us into coming back next winter for the Salmon River winter fest they have here! We’ll definitely stop...

I've visited Olde School Pub a few times during my trips to CNY. The food has always been great. The first time I had the Boneless Chicken Wings and it was more than enough to fill me up.

The Burgers at Olde School Pub are fantastic and a must try.
