Stopped in today for breakfast with family. It's your average upstate diner (which I happen to love), nothing fancy.
I got the small size sausage gravy and biscuits. Not only was it a big portion, definitely could have had leftovers if I wasn't making it my only meal of the day, but the gravy was perfect and the sausage had the right amount of spice. I did get an egg on the side. Delicious rye toast and will never again order the sausage itself (freezer burnt taste). My mom got the spinach and feta omelet--it was loaded with spinach. She said it was good. They also had little latkes as an alternative to hashbrowns that looked good!
The atmosphere is local and there's a gritty, small town vibe (yay! For the upstate diner). Some things were priced one or two dollars more than I'd expect, but I'd head here before driving into Oneonta any day! Service is what you'd expect, good and done.
All said, I'll be going back for that sausage gravy and will hopefully try lunch in the future/will provide an...

The five star is for atmosphere, because this is a diner, a quintessential American experience. And the atmosphere of a diner is part and parcel of the experience. Thus the atmosphere matches with what I consider a typical American diner.
I get breakfasts here from time to time.
The trackside breakfast is the best deal for me, it's big, affordable and fuels the tank.
The waitresses are perfect in what they do. It's def hard work, waiting tables. And they handle their responsibility in a kind professional and motherly way.
I've never been disappointed with the breakfasts, their egg sandwiches and their hamburgers.
As a rule of thumb once I find something great in the menu I don't try anything else.
But I'm sure whatever it is you order it will be another great American experience.
PS to the management, the bathroom might want to be on your radar for a remodel. It's def a weak link in your operation. . You can look me up finish line contractors of NY on...
Read moreWe got to the resturaunt at 835 am. Our order was taken pretty quickly and the waitress did inform us they were just finishing up a large order for a nearby business but they would be making our food shortly, which we had no problem with. The place was pretty busy inside as well so we anticipated a little bit of a wait. However, over an hour later and we still hadn't been served. We asked twice how much longer, as we had a toddler with us who was getting antsy, and we were worried about bothering the other patrons. We were told it would only be a few more minutes. We watched several tables leave without being served.. Once we noticed the tables next to us who had arrived after us were being served, we decided to leave as well . I'm really hoping that the large order they set all of the regular customers aside for paid well because they lost quite a bit of...
